04 MDX Touring - Driver door always indicates opn

So just recently when I started taking right turns I would notice my driver door would show open on the dash. Now it has gotten to the point that after driving for about 1 minute straight or otherwise it shows as open. I am able to push the door pin in and it correctly registers as closed and it appears the door is making good contact with the pin since there is a scuff mark there. Anyone run into this and have a solution? It is annoying the heck out of me. Thanks for the help!

Try a new pin switch. Sometimes the contact that is made over the years from the exact position of the closed door deteriorates causing your issue.

The hook(latch) on the door jam that the door latches to, that is adjustable. Check that the front door(when closed) seats flush with the front edge of the rear door.

IIRC, the hook has 2 big screws. If you release those screws(very slightly), you can tap the hook in(toward the interior) about 1/16 - 1/8 of an inch. That will bring the door in closer to the door jam, and therefore causing the pin switch to compress more.

If that don't help, then it might be that the pin switch needs replacing, as racinghart03 stated. It is the pin switch, tho.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried moving the hook in just a bit and it seems like it is closing better. The real test will be the drive back to Boston from CT tonight but it seems like it is better. Thanks again!
