No wax or carwash wax?

title is pretty self axplanatory. My car is a '97 cl which just got fully repainted in Black Sapphire Metallic in October. The car is my dd right now and getting a bunch of salt/dirt on it from the winter driving. I usually will take the car to a self serve car wash and spend anywhere from a half an hour to an hour washing and drying it. Just wondering right now cuz there is not much protection left on it as the water doesn't bead a lot, if it's good to use the car wash spray on wax as it's usually too cold to wax it myself in my garage right now. Or if there is some sort of alternative that i could spray onto the car as i'm washing it and just dry off with a towel? Any help would be greatly appreciated and i can tell that some of you here really know your stuff.
