I think the 225/50/17 is the best setup for snows on the new TL. The theoretical diameter is only .12" greater than the stock size, and the narrower tire gives better snow handling.

Great Info guys but it didn't answer all my questions. I have a stock hieght 98 2.5. I was looking at some 50/205 15 and the height looked way to high. If anyone has the same specs as me, please let me know what size tire you have and if you rub at all.

Advice Please

Hi everyone,
I have stock rims on my 2000 TL, I believe the size of stock tires is 205/60-16 , I am thinking of replacing them with "Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S" either 225/50-16 OR the 215/55-16.

Please let me know if you have the similar setup and what you think about it?

Thanks for helping,
-Stock_TL

you should either consider 215-55-16 or 225-55-16 for stock rims. 225-50-16 seems a bit small in diameter.
btw they are great tires!

dd1818, Thanks for the feedback.

I just checked at Tirerack.com and looks like "Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S" are not available in size 16" :-(

This is my first tire buying experience, and I do not plan on replacing my wheels at this time. Any other suggestions for a good all-season tire???

Thanks,
-Stock_TL

Hi Again,
Any thoughts about "Kumho Ecsta HP4 716" (225/55HR16) [All-Season Tires] for my 2000TL?

These tires get great reviews at TireTack.com, and am really interested in knowing if anyone has an experience with these on their TL's.

Thanks,
-Stock_TL

I just got some Falken Ziex 512, and I'm liking them a lot. They got great reviews from Consumer Reports, eliminated my tire squeal, the car now feels secure on turns (although that is also due to the upgrade to 225/40/18), they look good, and they are very reasonably priced.

Yoko's

Finally, I decided on the Yokohama's and got the AVS dB S2's. I am yet to dress up the TL with these new tires. Will soon share my opinion.
