Would like new tires for my '08 TL

I'd like something that's quiet and not as expensive (currently kind of broke). Anyone know if a set of these would be any good? Any recommendations?

Uniroyal Tiger Paw GTZ Tire 235 45ZR17 94W - Walmart.com

Thanks.

Do yourself a favor and research here before buying: https://www.tirerack.com/

They're a sponsor and may be able to help you find a good bang for your buck. PM Sonny.

I'll be honest I've never bought tires for a car before. The website does have ALOT and some are quite cheap. For example, are these any good? https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...20Transmission

There's only 1 review that says it's quieter compared to their last tires. How can I be sure? Thanks.

you cant.

take all reviews with a grain of salt.
reviews are subjective.

any new tire will be quieter than the old set because the new set will be new.

different tire companies use different compounds of rubber.

so, not one company will be the same in reviews, tire life and noise.

this is the hard part.
you're basically going to have to pick a tire that falls in the car's specs and your budget.

then, if you dont like that tire, you know for next time...not to buy that brand.

unless the tire has a return policy

Other than cheap and quiet YOU need to decide what YOUR needs in a tire are. Decent in snow? Handles well in wet and dry? treadwear? Keep in mind you pay for what you get.

What are your priorities and tires are not something you typically want to skimp on. Remember they are the only things in your car touching the road..........

I live in central valley in California so it is extremely dry, no rain, no snow.

Any advice guys? Don't need anything fancy. Something quiet and long-lasting preferred. No snow and no rain, California.

My advice, Don't cheap out. You get what you pay for. If you buy a set (4) tires for $300 don't expect much life. If you're strapped for cash and REALLY need new tires, try craigslist for a set of used, or a junkyard to get by for the time being. Then save your money and buy a decent set with a warranty. You'll thank yourself

As of now, they only have 4 available, Tire Rack Yokohama S.4 245/45-17 closeout $112 each. I purchased these years ago for $180 each, saw about 50k miles, but only problem I had was the flat spotting in extremely cold weather, but in CA, as others have found, no problem.
