According to the first few post these Tein SA's were around $865 new back in 2012. I'm seeing them for $650ish now. Have they really come down on price that much over the years ?

I paid 600 for used SS a few years ago and cam now considering buying an SA set at this price and switch them out. My current coilovers are at like 60k. Except I have my Edfc setup to uninstall too. Hmm

If I were going on that mission, I'd try out the H&R Street Performance coils.

I'm pretty sure the Type S I just bought has this set up, so this was a good read. :-)

I've had these on for a few months now. I've got about an inch gap between fender and tires. I've been gradually adjusting towards stiff in order to keep the plastic intake on the bottom of the car from hitting the ground after a bump in the road. does everyone else have this issue? if so, how stiff/high did you have to go to prevent this?

Anyone know if you need a spring compressor to install loose top hats to these coilovers? Also is an impact gun needed to tighten the top bolt? Thanks

don't need a spring compressor unless you're removing top hats from another assembly.

you do not need an impact gun. i've done the top hats a few times by hand

nice let us know what you think!!

i'm actually purchasing the updated tein street flex on monday (replacing my old tein super streets), and i'm SUPER excited about those since they should ride better at any height since it's a fully threaded body

Looks like I'm pulling the trigger on getting these Tein SA coils. What else should I get besides the coils? Do I need camber kit? I'm have a 2007 tl with aspec kit on so I don't think I am going to slam it like no tommorow..but will try to get a perfect drop. Any suggestions. Thank you in advance

Are you referring to the Tein Street Advance Coilovers? If so, if you want your rear camber within factory specs, you might consider getting a couple of these SPC upper arms. This is what I did a couple years ago, and everything has been working great.

Amazon.com: Specialty Products Company 67095 Adjustable Rear Arm with Ball Joint for Acura TL 2004-2008: Automotive

You'll want to get Honda boots (52454-SEP-A01) and circlips (52338-SL0-003) because I've read that the SPC parts don't last. I don't know if this has changed since then.

You might have to reuse your castle nuts because the ones on the SPC units are too short.

Street Advanced installed this weekend along with skunk2 A arms, SPC Rears, moog endlinks, progressive RSB & 15F/20R mm spacers.. Getting fenders rolled today along with the final alignment. Going for the flush look versus much camber.

Thinking about getting the Tein street advance for my 2007 tl type s. I was wondering does all tein SA works on the TL?..I have a type s..and don't know if these will work. I been reading that the tl frame is different. So my main question is..will the Tein SA coils work with base model and type s model and are there different Teins for base to type s. Thinking about getting the Tein but I still can't find out if they are the same and will work for both. Please let me know thanks. I can't wait to get it order.

I think it'll fit...when I first got my used set of Tein, they were listed as for an Accord.

No, aside from top hats...there's no change in anything from base to type s and your choice of suspension.

Probably dampening and weight rating on the spring rates...I'm sure there's a marginal difference on weight of car. When I put them on my TL...the car sat MUCH lower than it should have. Turns out they were in terrible condition and I replaced with the correct ones for a TL brand new.

Did you get a killer deal? Why not get the right application ones? You'd hate to find out the difference while your car is taken apart and not driveable, right?

ah damn that means I'm going to have to go thru a lot of bs now. But no I got them as a gift. They were out of stock of the TL one's so my brothers them email the place to see if the accord/tsx one would fit. They say yeah, so they went ahead and order the accord one. But now I'm here just double checking to see if it would fit with no problem before I start putting it on. And knowing my car is probably heavier than both the accord and tsx. I'm just worried its going to mess up my car.

I might be WRONG THOUGH!
This was back in 2009...and the ones I tried were 2003 Accord ones...
maybe the 3G TL isn't heavier than a newer accord/TSX...

BUT I also wonder why they would bother having a specific model one if they were all "the same". Nawmean?

ok will I hope you are wrong than lol. Because I don't want to go thru the processes of return than and plus I don't even know if they gave me one of those return sticker/sheet thingy if the part was not right. But yeah I know what chu mean. They should of just put it all under the same model or list the model that it'll fit.

there's no match for 04-08 TSX...
Accord has a TON of different matches...what's the part number you bought?

It feels to me like they sold you whatever they had in stock...it MIGHT work, but for something so annoying to deal with, do you want to take the chance? I googled tein sa and acura TL and accord to see if there were any threads discussing them working...and nothing came up.

Personally, I'd have your brother contact them back and ship back for refund...tell them you'll wait until it comes in stock or buy from another seller...namely heeltoe on here (vendor) or kuruma motoring on ebay...

I think this is the part number G2B482401826. But yeah on the instruction book it say its for Honda accord/ acura tsx 04-08. but yeah most likely I'm just going to give them a call back and get a refund or something. Because I don't want to damage my car any kind of way in the future because of this. Hopefully they will give me a refund or give me the right ones.

I don't think you'll "damage" anything...but for $1000 and a car you probably love...you would want to put on the stuff the manufacturer developed specifically for it. At least, that's how I FEEL.

How long ago were they purchased?

yeah that's how I feel too. I love this car man, wont be able to find one like this anymore haha. But I think its only been a week since they order it. The part just got here this past Friday so I should be good. And I just found out they did order the part from ebay too.

yeah sorry, it was my brother and one of my buddy who place the order. And idk lol guess we just gonna have to called the place where they order from and see what happen haha. All we can do now is cross our fingers and hope for the best haha. Hopefully it will just be something fast. We give them a call explain to them what's going on and they just give us a refund or give us the right one haha. But thanks for helping me out tho. This was the only place I can think of to help me out here.

You'll like this place...very helpful members and lots o information.
You're welcome! Good luck...

Well, pretty simple...hey, I have an 07 TL. I want the coilovers meant for it...not ones that CAN work with it. They shouldn't give you a hard time...go check the ebay listing and ensure there's a refund/return policy and no 20% restocking fee, either. Especially since you just want the coils back.

Also, I don't know how much you'll bother messing with the dampening but look into getting the Tein BASIS if they have it in stock...rode in an accord with it and it rides GREAT.

Yeah im still a noob on this site so gonna need a lot of help lol. Or if I can find someone to buy it than I'll be good. Wont have to go thru all that bs haha. But thanks I'll check those out. I just want my ride to be like stock ride only.

Did you get your camber kit the same place you got your coilovers? Which camber kits would you recommend?
