Cool Aspec wheels

Hey guys,
Just wanted to get your opinion on a set of aspec wheels I was planning to buy. These are the 18x8's. I really wanted the 18x8.5s but those have been harder to find as of late. I came across these wheels. Seller States that none of them have any cracks or bends. Two of them have chips as seen in the pics. What would be an approx estimate to get them fixed? Should I go for em? What would you be willing to pay for a set of these wheels? I'm Trying to get an estimate of their value as they're not as rare as the 8.5s.

Those are the 18x8.5 Aspecs because they don't have the lip on the outside of the rim. They'll need to get them repowdercoated so that will need to be factored into the offer. Do they come with tires or without? How is the tread if tires are included?

Really? I thought those were 8's.Tires are 245-45-18 Michelin with 40% Life remaining. I'll have to get them powder coated if I buy em.

Yup, those are the rare 18x8.5s.

I'm going to say buy them - there are many people on here hunting them down.

Inb4 someone posts asking how much or location lol

I'd pick them up...you can get them fixed (the chips) for ~$75-$100 per wheel.

yea snag those man they are pretty mangled tho , refinish shouldn't be any more than 500 I would assume

Yeah man, you should def jump on those. I had two sets of the 8.5 Aspec wheels refinished for $1000. So it shouldn't cost no more than $500 to get them looking pretty. If you don't get them, I'll take them. Lol. Just kidding man

Not gonna lie, I'd rock those wheels as is

Curb rash?
I don't see much. Wheel edges look pretty good to me, with minor spots.
The wheel edges actually look far better than mine.

Now those spokes, I'm not sure what happened to them lol but some touchup paint and it would be good enough for rock and roll

If they say 18x8, then they're the RL A-Spec wheels which have a 5x120 bolt pattern.

Can confirm, they won't fit TL.

Good thing you didn't refinish them.

I don't think you'll have a hard time selling them.
I owned Type-S wheels for less than 24 hours lol

Well, if they were the 8.5's, it would be best to keep them the original color since that's the way they were made. It is because of the width and color as to why they are great and rare...sorry to hear that they won't fit now. You can always get some adapters to make them fit. I have a rl as well so depending on where you are located, I may be interested in them. Let me know. Thanks.

I'll keep you guys posted. Previous owner States they were on the TL-S with no adapters. Something isn't adding up. Ill get to the bottom of it in the next few days.

If you checked under rim, you should see the bolt pattern stamped onto there too no?

IIRC It should have stamped on there somewhere 5 x 114.3

Something isn't adding up at all. Get pictures of the bolt patterns and makes 100% sure they're for the TL. If they are then they're 18x8.5, if not then theyre 18x8 and you'll just need an adapter to run them which isn't a big deal.

Nothing wrong with adapters.
People who don't torque them properly will have problems.

Looking at the tire size, 245/45/18, those tire specs are pretty much what would run on a rl not on a tl. I could be wrong.

Since you were thinking about getting them refinish to begin with, get the lug holes filled and re-drilled for your desire lug pattern then refinish. Search for shops that repair rims locally. I have set of 2014 rlx 19" oem spokes wheels, that's the route I'm taking.

Just measured the bolt pattern this morning. Def 5x120. I'll try to get some quotes for redrilling but I may just sell them. Will be up on black market later tonight

Is there any way of knowing the 8 and 8.5 aspecs apart without taking the wheels off? My TL came with some when I bought it but I'm not sure which ones they are. I live in an apartment complex so I'd rather not take them off lol.

Yes there is a way of knowing the difference. The 8" Aspec wheel has a little lip on the edge of the wheel all around. The 8.5" Aspec wheel has no lip on the edge of the wheel and the spoke actually goes to the edge of the wheel. If you post up a picture of your wheels, we can let you know what you have.

That's not the best way to find out. That outer lip can be shaved down to eliminate curb rash during refinish. This is what I thought this buyer was dealing with all along. Look at the numbers! I'm sure ABG wished he did.

I find it funny that demand for 8.5s went back up. Back in 2006 there was high demand especially since they went out of production and were available only that 1st year. I paid a premium to get em, but had to have them. Years later I posted them for sale and nobody wanted them. I was getting stupid offers like $400 etc. I decided hell naw, I'm keeping them for winter and selling the car with them. I'll sell my stockies instead. Now I'm wondering if I should reverse that decision. Hmm.

I think you should sell with stockies and put the aspecs up for sale
