20mm rear spacers, 6MT A-Spec wheels A-Spec suspension. Rub?

Hey everyone!

I had spent quite a while searching for an answer to this, and while I learned a lot about spacers, tire/wheel size, offset, etc. Was unable to find details on whether or not I would potentially rub with my setup

18x8.5 A-spec wheels
A-Spec suspension

Didn't see much on the 15mm fronts rubbing, so I am not to worried about that, but I have seen mixed experiences on 20mm spacers on the +45 offset A-spec wheels either rubbing or not.

Anyone have experience or insight into my particular dilemma here?

Thanks so much for any help!

You're probably not getting answers because you're not providing enough information about what you currently have for someone to give you an educated answer. It's not a slam, just stating the facts.

There are so many factors at work here, but one of the largest ones is the tire make, model, and size. This, more than anything, is probably why you're getting mixed answers on rubbing.

Physically, your wheels will poke more than mine by only 2.3mm, so I can imagine that you will not rub, but it depends on the tire shoulder shape really.

I don't see the drop being an issue, if anything it hurts you a little. Stock base height can run just about anything, same with slammed, it's the mid-level drop that causes the issues with rubbing.

It did not rub for me.

245/40/18 tires.

It rubbed after I lowered with Tein S tech.

You're quite correct, I had completely forgotten to include that important detail...

Tire size is 235/40/18

Thank you for your input!

That's good to know, makes me feel a bit safer picking up a set of 20mm as I'm currently running 234/40/18. Appreciated!

Even though all 235's are created equal, I don't see a problem with that size, unless you were running tires that run super wide, like the Toyo Proxes R888.

Running Michelin pilot sport A/S 3's currently. I am not sure where those would would stand in comparison to the Toyo.

That was supposed to say aren't created equal. Generally, standard tires like what you are running will be nearly identical, just a few mm variance from tire to tire. When you get to high performance tires, or track tires you'll see the difference. I have 235 R888's on my Exige, and they run wider than standard 245 tires.

It does indeed! And that was with 20mm rear spacers correct?

Just ordered some, should have them all set up middle of next week!
