BC Racing Coilovers!

Hey All,

Another find! I was on my continuous search for RL parts and found that BC Racing has added the 2nd Gen RL to its list of coilover kits in May 2015. So I sent them an email being its not available for purchase from the website.

http://www.bcec.com.tw/history/news.html

This is the corresponding email from BC Racing...
"Thank you for contacting BC Racing NA. The part number for your vehicle is A-101-br.

For general street driving with light track use I would suggest staying with the default rates as the dampers have been tuned specifically around the vehicle and have been tested and proven to be very good rates for that vehicle.

If you would like to place an order feel free to give us a call at the number below and anyone in the sales office would be glad to assist you. This kit will be $1,050 shipped to the lower 48 states. Unfortunately this will be a special order and lead
time will be 3 weeks to your door from the time of order."

I just sent them back another email asking the drop and spring rate front and rear. I'll post when I get a response!

^for the TL the BC's came stock with 10kg up front and 6 kg in the back....

to me this is unbalanced.
it should be more equal to each other.

BC's are great! because they allow you to order custom spring rates, I chose a more balance between the two.

I chose 12kg up front and 10kg in the rear.

here is a crude conversion chart

kg/mm to lbs/in
-----------------------------
16 = 896
15 = 840
14 = 784
13 = 728
12 = 672
11 = 616
10 = 560
9.0 = 504
8.5 = 476
8.0 = 448
7.5 = 420
7.0 = 392
6.5 = 364
6.0 = 336
5.5 = 308
5.0 = 280
4.5 = 252
4.0 = 224
3.0 = 168
2.0 = 112

Here is the response I received below. I think I'm going to go with BC coilovers in the spring being the response from a lot of people is they like BC coilovers and have a great ride over other brands.

"The BR type coil over kit for your Acura RL AWD will lower the vehicle around 2 inches Max Drop.

Now we did speak to our accounting dept and we can build this kit Extreme drop which will allow for around a 3 inch

drop. The spring rate's that come with the kit will be 12kg front and 8kg rear. The front spring rate can be customized but the

rear can not because it uses a V barrel style spring. We carry two rear spring's but both are 8kg. one being default and one

extreme drop. The kit uses BC Racing top hat's but are rubber center's. Camber plate's are not available."
