you'll need to roll your rear fenders and cut the bumper tabs there. Run some negative camber and probably a very mild tire stretch.
i'm running 18x8+35 with a full tire and i rub in the rear on big dips with rolled rear fenders. i have an ingalls rear camber kit waiting to go on that will solve the rubbing.

Is there a lip on the wheels? If so then you'll definitely rub.

I'm running 18x8, +35 also with no lip on 235/40/18 tires. It rubs on big dips in the front. I'm dropped 1.2 inches.

Why does having a lip matter? The rims are the same width regardless of a lip.

No rims have no lip, but to my earlier statement about the offset they are not +35 they are +30 but no matter I'm going to roll my fenders regardless. Now I do have another question...What type of suspension are you guys running?

There are so many options. If you're running aggressive offset then you'll want some coilovers preferably with dampening option.

My fault, I have RL calipers so I'm sure my "lip" statement doesn't apply to the OP

Don't mean to barge in on this conversation but for our cars (2003 CLS) the higher the offset the better? I'm looking at 18x 8 also running 235/40/18 tires. My car is dropped via tanabe nf210 springs and eibach pro dampers. Thanks.

That's a very mild drop (had them at one point) so I don't think you'd rub either way, but to be safe stay +45 or higher.

@ gnuts, so let's say an offset of +45, +48, or +53....... On a 18x8 wheel. When is an offset too high if possible? Regarding to my vehicle I mentioned specifically. Thanks!

Well stock wheels have an offset of +55. It would be hard to find wheels that high or higher. But I wouldn't go past that because you risk hitting the inside of the wheel against your brake calipers.
