Cool Volks and Paranoia!?!?!?! (LONG READ)

Well just as the title says, do any of you with rims (especially VOLKS) feel as though you are somewhat paranoid by the thought of theft? I know that if thieves want your car they will ultimately take it. I work for the police department out here in Las Vegas, so the majority part of the day my baby is in a secured/enclosed parking w/ an assigned car port. But I was really thinking of upgrading the security system on the TSX to possibly a system that includes 2way pager, tilt-sensors, and various add-ons to decrease the chances of theft. Needless to say I use the CLUB and the AUTO-LOCK (locking mechanism on brake pedal) together in order to deter would-be car-theives only when I am not at home or work. I also go to school in the afternoon @ the University of Nevada Las Vegas, although theft is not very high on campus, for some reason I constantly feel like I have this paranoia. Feel free to contribute your thoughts as I am interested to see if you all feel the same way!!!!

Thanks

How was that a long read?

Just get the OEM wheel locks then buy 4 more sets.

label the key with which wheel it is. Put all 4 locks on the Front Left wheel with 1 oem. Then label the key FL. Then put another set 4 on the Front right and label the Key FR...etc repeat for rear wheels.

Also get the tilt sensor.

Other then that theres nothing you can do. Just live happy with the volks.

Also, someone mentioned bear claw wheel locks are harder to break off?

i would get 4 sets like stated but put one of each on each wheel. yes it would take longer to get the wheels off but hey it doesnt take that long to rotate the key over the locked nuts to see if it is the right one.

Right now, I have 1 set of wheel locks plus a set of splined nuts on there.

If you're concerned, I would go ahead and do like CCC says and buy 4 sets of wheel locks and put them on each wheel (1 key per wheel to make it easy for you).

I would have one of each nut from each set on each wheel. or 4 different locks on each wheel.

That's what my tire guy told me and that's why I went with what I have on my car.

You don't need to shell out the cash for the Volk nuts, I'd say just get a good set of aftermarket ones.

+ 1

I'm running Rays Lugs and when I compare those to the OEM, the ends look very different. I don't think the OEM lugs on aftermarket wheels would be very safe. When I was shopping around I found a lot of different options when I searched for "tuner lugs".

it doesnt matter if the lock is different. They snap them off with a power tool. So having same 4 on same wheel is= to having 4 different

I got 2 of my original Volks CE28 tire valve caps stolen - most likely kids for their BMX/bikes - they are the black metal caps which aren't common and hard to replace - if you want to order it from a Volks dealer, you have to buy the entire valve stem.

Another common target is the Volks rim centre cap - much harder but have heard of those getting ripped off - and they cost too much for me so I don't have them on the rims anyway.

You can actually get those centercaps off??? I thought you need to take the rims apart before you do that~
