I also think this 3rd Generation TL will "stand the text of time". It's just a great, classy look. My dealership constantly asks me if I'm ready to move up to a 4G......
I don't think Acura will ever admit that the 4G TL is not as popular as the 3G. But you also have to remember that they moved the 4G TL into a different class of car. The 4G is no longer Sports Sedan.

Well I haves owned both and my 4g sh-awd out handles my type-s easily. It's night and day. But I still love the 3rd gen looks even though the 2012 is sharp looking now.

I'm sure nobody will mind if I quote this picture again... ;)
I agree...I can see a BONE stock one rolling down the highway and I'll STILL check it out.
Over 3 years of ownership and I still look back and ogle when I park anywhere. It's abnormal...haven't seen too many shaped cars that I can say that about.
CLASSIC look, and I agree about the 2nd Gen RL...gorgeous too.
And since most of these threads are useless without pics...and I'm a picture HOOOAHHH...

Because its the sexiest car ever made. That I can afford
How did you get that plastidip so shiny on your hood. Is that just clear over it??

I'm not so sure about that. Acura/Honda are known for retaining value - you can see it in the higher lease residuals.
Or if you go search for similar Lexus (IS350) or BMW (330i), in say 2005 - 2007, the TL prices are comparable. BUT the Lexus/BMW's cost more originally. Which would mean on a percentage basis the TL holds value better.

Thank you JJH Didn't want to requote you since even a picture hoooahhhh has his limits!
Very close...actually.
No, not plastidipped grill...it was (semi=amateur friend) professionally painted. He did a good job but I get a lot of rock chips I have to touch up. The specs with spacers are +25 rear, +35 front (slightly staggered so I do rotate using a set of 10MM v1 spacers OR a 20MM V2 on the rear).
Headlights were cleared with a type S diffuser wrapped with CF, chrome reflectors put back in (I originally blacked it all out) and blue on the projector ring.
I agree with Bearcat...they lose the least amount of residual value from their starting point.

Funny, when I met my ex...she had a Legend that had an AC problem. She parked it at her development and they put the warning sticker on...and they ended up towing/keeping it. I should have jumped on that if I knew what I was looking at at the time.

My buddy in Atlanta has the cleanest 92 Legend I have seen in many years. Got a pic of it in my build thread from last year.
Those cars still look hot also - agreed.
Yeah thats a nice blacked out front end.

^^^Lets hope you not talking about Ken, there are only a few people who have nice Legend left and I know most of them if they ever belong to a forum lol.

Hondas are conservatively styled. This helps it age more gracefully and makes them move off the as fast as the were traded in on Honda/Acura Lots. My favorite Honda to this day was the Aqua colored 92-93 Honda Accord SE coupe. I'd buy one today if i found a really clean one. Cars with overly done overly bubbly styling like say Pontiacs age fast because the following model looks so different. Honda just seems to add size to the vehicle while keeping the genes in there. You can see some of the 92 accord still in the 2010 to some degree.
I owned a 93 SE in Aqua. Or to be official, Atlantis Blue Green Pearl. Had it from 95-07 and I kept it as new as possible. I just recently contacted the woman who purchased it from me. She has been using it as more of a DD and just turned 200k miles. Has some rust
Here she was in her prime. Have not seen one on the road in this color in years.
And this is the original timeless Acura sedan

My TL is practically bone stock right now, and I still think the car looks awesome. In fact the other day, I parked my car at school and as I walked away kept turning around to see it glow (just got it washed).
I agree this car has aged insanely well. The interior, although less that excellent leather, has aged great too! I still love the interior.
However, I do feel like the TLX is an evolved form of the 3G TL-S. Does anyone else feel that way?

Most all new sedans look alike..line up the new Fusion, kia, sonata and Chrysler 200..look identically FUGLY.When the 3gs came out there was no shape even close. Its a timeless design.Yesterday I was sitting in my 07 MRP type S wating for my mom at the cardiologist and two women walked by staring at the car.One said beautiful Acura..is that a new one? When I told her it was a 07 she couldn't believe it.She in turn said,"I LIKE THE SHAPE OF THE CAR".Enough SAID!!

Grats on that awesome TLS bro.
Anyway 3G/TL/S for life! Screw everything else imo.
We one own a legendary vehicle. Deep down I want to keep this car forever, I'll try to do that :p
Unless Acura delivers a true worthy replacement.

Three Wheelin'
I don't doubt for a second that the TLX didn't get some inspiration from the 3G TL. The 3G TL was one of the best looking cars of its time and it still looks damn good today. Only next to a few cars does it look dated, the TLX for example.
Alot of cars today do look too similar. You put a TLX next to a car in its class, or even a couple Hyundais, they look fairly similar. The 3G TL was a completely different design during its release. It was subtle, yet also very different. There's a reason why people were trading in their Mercedes, Lexus, and BMWs for it.
