hey guys, long story short, I need to find a lip for my 08 type s. looking for a type-s aspec (front + rear) I'd prefer OEM, but will consider fiberglass also. I tried calling Delray acura, they can't get any lips for the car at all. i'm in Toronto, so if anyone can point me in the right direction, or know someone who is willing to sell me one, please let me know!

PS the urgency is that my car has been held up in a bodyshop waiting for custom paint and the lips which the shop owner said he could get; after months, yes MONTHS of waiting i just said screw it i'll get the parts myself..

thanks for your quick replies guys, i actually emailed endlessrpm/bruce some time ago and it didn't go anywhere, i'll give it another shot, maybe he was busy. if i can get one shipped to buffalo I could easily go pick it up (probably not so easy to bring it back unless it was attached to the car lol)

if it is super urgent, I'd go without the lip.
then pick one up later, when the time is right. you can always have the lip painted to match

justnspace, the urgency to find the lip is because i'm getting a ghost pearl done over the paint job.. my concern is that if painted at a later time the amount of pearl will be off so the lip(s) will look different when the light reflects..

Justnspace, if i don't get the lip in time, then my car will be custom pearl painted with oem a-spec sideskirts and non-aspec front and rear bumpers. i had the type-s sideskirts switched over to aspec ones by the same shop while i was under the impression (after being reassured multiple times by the owner). if i get the lips after the fact, my main concern is that the amount of pearl won't be the same in the mix and i'm going to end up with a paint job that has off color front and rear lips.. (might as well have a wdp, lol)

overall i just need to get the car back, its been in the shop literally for months now while waiting for each little thing that was needed. by the time i get it back its gonna be time to park it, lol

and that was my concern. the time frames are not lining up! here's hoping you get the lip in time

but if not, no one will fault you for having less or more flake in the lips, afterall they are but a small part of the car.

That makes no sense at all. The paint is mix already and even if the paint sits in a container; they will just mix/shake it again. Same color same effect. Plastic will always take a different effect than metal. You need to clarify all concerns with the shop. Ask questions and get concrete answers.

Hey there, I just picked up an ASPEC kit from Bruce at Endless RPM. Paid more than i wanted due to our crappy conversion rate, and the fact that my color ABS was no longer available.. but received the kit within days. Contact him, and he will get you what you need!

If I understand your term "ghost pearl" I presume your referring to technique similar to "ghost flames". If so due to the angles in the lip there will be a lot of "flop" that will hide any possible imperfections but I get your concern. So your gonna lay a basecoat, ghost pearl then clear?

what colours? I got my TL painted last year, I was told not to wax it until the water stops beading off as the paint is still too fresh to wax and is still in the outgassing phase for a while.

It was about 10 months before my car seen a coat of wax, although 6 of those months it was in storage
