Since you are doing the rear roof spoiler, i think the trunk spoiler is overkill.
I would go with the lip if you are absolutely getting the rear roof spoiler.
I don't have the roof spoiler.
I had the trunk "type-s" lip, but decided it wasn't attractive to me. I then put on the trunk spoiler. I like it ten-fold times better than the lip.
Good majority of AcuraZine TL members will disagree with me tho.

Ok, let me get the question straight here. You want to add a roof spoiler, and you want to know if you should use the trunk lip or a trunk wing spoiler as your roof spoiler?
If this is correct i say silly question, but go with the lip or a dedicated roof spoiler that was designed for that area.
If you didnt want the roof spoiler and instead wanted suggestions on an actual trunk spoiler than my answer is still the same, lip.

Lip spoiler for sure.
This is just me, but I would take that money and put it towards the A-Spec kit. The lip spoiler is pretty pricey.

okay so i was facing this same dilemma as you when i was buying my spoiler. seeing the forums, i saw that the lip was obviously the more popular choice. and i also liked the subtleness of it.
However, being the 18 year old whose brother just totaled his highly modded impreza wrx, i was still in the sports car phase of my short lived life. then i thought about it, im EIGHTEEN.
this is the only time of my life that i can get away with making my car look like a sports car and getting away with it. i have the rest of my life to get a nice, subtle, luxurious car. thats where i decided that the spoiler was right for me seeing as how i still craved a sporty looking car (not that the lip isnt sporty, its just more of a classy, subtle sporty).
I see that you're 18 too, and ill tell you to really consider the spoiler. i got it and havent regretted it at the slightest since. on top of that, i have a carbon fiber hood and and am planning on getting a custom carbon fiber roof spoiler within a week or two. i have yet to see any tl's with a trunk spoiler and roof spoiler, but i tried to imagine it. if my imagination doesnt fail me, i think that it should look pretty nice,
if not sexxy as shit.

i say lip cuz i think you have to drill holes into the trunk if u pick spoiler. and if u pick spoiler, make sure theres an acura emblem engraved in the underside of the spoiler cuz thats how u kno its OEM.

a spoiler makes the car look more like a sports car and less like a luxury car. honestly, in a way thats kind of what i wanted because i didnt feel right pulling up to 35 year old men in honda civics in such a nice car being only 18. a sports car look was more of what i wanted. not that it doesnt still look luxurious, its still a sexy ass acura. its just the look i wanted. everyone has their own opinions so you have to decide for yourself, seeing a TL with a spoiler in person will help. definitely consider the fact that you have to drill into the trunk though because once you put the spoiler on, you wont want to take it because of that.

Lip spoiler. I got the oem wing, and i do like it (got used to it i guess), but its too flashy and ricerish. The lip is simple and clean. Cant go back, the holes are there.

I got the spoiler instead of the lip, I didn't want to spend 200+ for something not that noticeable... and I love it.... it looks good with the rear window spoiler.... i will post pics when I finish my 15 day waiting period to actually be able to upload pics..... I have an AM if that matters....

i recently switched the trunks with another Azine addict to get the lip !!!!
the reason i did that is because the lip makes the car look wide bodied....the way the stock spoiler bends down, just makes the rear look tiny.....if you refer to the pictures above the lip ends before the bumper starts curving out.....
well i saw the spoiler for over 2 years on my car and had it switched out and at first i did miss it but then the lip looks so much better and aggressive.....am gonna get the roof spoiler and i think that adds another level of "spice" to the car's rear end !!!!

i just have to balance out the lips since 19 out of 20 tl enthusiasts get them. i just dont think the lip is 19 times better than the trunk spoiler. in my opinion, the spoiler is underrated. but for short,
yes, yes i do.
