Timing Belt Options?

So my car is at 130,000 miles and I unfortunately have no service information as to whether or not the belt has been done previously (was an auction car). So I'm replacing the belt, water pump, water pump seal, pulleys and auto-tensioner myself.

I guess my only question for you fellas (and ladies if applicable), is if anyone knows of a good kit I can purchase. A buddy at work told me that I have to use a Gates belt, and he's a parts guy, so it's information I somewhat trust. I've searched on here, and I've searched on Google but there are hundreds of kits that use brand name belts I've never heard of.

Any suggestions?

Search is your friend. We really don't need yet another TB thread. Gates or Aisin.

Napa has good parts, but they're high. Gates and Asin are good brands.

Gates has mostly good parts in their kit. I do know that a few times when I bought a Gates kit, the wp was made in China. I do not have an issue with the wp but if you do not like Chinese parts I would go with the Aisin kit.

Got to be careful with NAPA as they are very high and just rename/rebox other parts.
At Rock Auto the Aisian Part # TKH002 is $177.79
But at NAPA:
ATM TKH002 is on sale for $395.10

Last week, needed a front brake hose for the daughter's Maxima so I stopped at the local NAPA store to see if they had one in stock, their number 380488 $21.15, but checking Rock Auto H380488 $9.81. They didn't have one in stock and couldn't wait for the shipping, so needed to go elsewhere.

Go with the AISIN kit from rockauto. OEM parts without the Honda name on them, and WITHOUT the OEM price. Looking at the original water pump, I saw BOTH the Honda and Aisin names on it. End of Topic.

Hey guys sorry bit unrelated but I bought a 2001 5MT Accord with 87K miles and was wondering if I should replace the belt? Cat calls for replacement at 120k but it's almost 15 years old so I don't know whether to go mileage or age.

If unsure, replace it. You will have peace of mind knowing it will not fail for another 15 years.
