'03-'05 Honda Accord fog lights - TL retro - OEM feeler thread

Well once again I have a chance to offer the ACURA community cheap pricing for quality OEM materials. I have an opportunity to sell the OEM fog lights (glass) which retail for $330 for only $150 plus shipping. After market ones run upward of $100. This would be the genuine OEM kit from HONDA, made in Japan. The thing is I need a list of people interested that defiantly want them before I pull the trigger on 20+ kits.

Please make a list so I can order the kits. This will be limited so if you want me to hold your spot, you can PM me and I will work out the payment details.

For anyone local I install these as well for a small fee.

What kind of modifications to the housing would be required for these to fit the TL?

You have to do a lot of dremeling to the lower grill area of your TL.

You need to remove the grill, take off the bumper and you will see where you need to dremel. Then you need to trim the fog housing just a little bit for the perfect fit and mount. Then just cut the grill and it should look exactly like the picture below:

hmm.....the only benefit to getting the OEM fog lights is the OEM switch.
You can get a set of fogs on eBay with the glass lense, purchase the oem switch for 15 bucks and save yourself half the cost of the OEM fogs. You can also make your own wiring harness if your savvy with electrical wiring.

150 is a good deal for OEM fogs but, it can be had for a less.

My ebay ones have been holding up fine for over a year.

This isn't directed to just you, really to the typical forum member, but I just wanna put my in before the OPs thread redirects from topic..

People on here continuously fail to realize the time and effort it takes an individual to create off the shelf parts for these cars. It's not easy, and definitely isn't a cheap investment. We are lucky to have guys that are willing to do this, and on top of that deliver with outstanding quality and service. Put yourself in their shoes, how would you feel if someone did this to you at your job?

I just don't understand how some guys can sit around and pry at the vendors arguing what their business is worth. You're all lucky this car isn't European, what they sometimes have to pay to mod their cars is ridiculous. Do people really expect Vendors to just donate everything they do at their cost of materials only??

If you can DIY, then good for you, make your own thread, don't go kicking a vendor's feeler thread in the nuts saying what you feel the product should be priced at. Nobody in this world goes to work at their job out of the kindness of their heart. At the end of day, these vendors too need to be able to provide dinner at their family table..

at the end of the day its all about money.

You can pay 150 for the same product you can get for 60. If your comfortable knowing your fogs are OEM Honda. Then dont let my post deter you.

Exactly. I'd rather pay the extra for OEM and also support a fellow TL enthusiast. You get what you pay for.

Who cares if it's oem or not, you're still hacking up your car to put it on there. It's not a direct replacement with the oem part

Actually, no. Go to your dealer and see what the wiring harness/extension and switch cost...~$80. Please don't bash this thread without knowing the details. Look at it this way, go to sll your "EBAY" fogs when you plan on selling the car and see what their worth. With these, you will get almost all of your money back since they retail $330. Also, look at the details that ROGER555 posted about OEM vs After market quality. There's a reason why people buy OEM and the statement you get what you pay for is true. Also if its "All about the money", why buy parts? I agree with you 100% after market over retail OEM, but for $150...your crazy to disagree since EBAY fogs and OEM harness would run you ~$130.

OP I understand they are holding up, but DEPO TYPE-S tail lights hold up fine, but don't look anywhere near OEM quality..

Rogers post:
"If you have real accord fog lights you already have a glare shield but if you bought the ebay "stuff" you do not. The glare is cause by two things one is the focal point of the HID bulb does not match exactly where the filament was on the halogen bulb. The second reason is a HID bulb distributes light differently so even if they did match the HID bulb does perform with the reflector as designed. A few years ago I attempted to get rid of glare from an old car I installed a HID kit in. I cut a strip of aluminum and attached it in a half circle under the HID bulb. I saw minimal improvement if any. The glare comes from everywhere! not just the bottom or the top a lot of mine actually shines up from ridged side area of the reflector. Real Solution for glare, install projectors or halogen bulbs as designed."

I am not making this a contest to say well this does that, and that does this. Please don't post in this thread if you aren't interested and Mods can you please delete any more nonsense posts? Thank you.

Correct, comes with everything but the HID kit. HID kits never came factory so its not included, but halogen H11 bulbs are.

I can vouch for his services. I just had these fogs installed, along with black-painted and cleared headlights. I asked him to direct wire the fogs so they can be independent of the other lights.

I went with all black. I'm going to probably disconnect the integrated foglights and use the HID kit on another car. Picture 4 shows what they look like in the day...you can't really see them, and that's fine; I'm not going to be using them. Picture 6 shows them at night...still don't affect the output much.

I used Lamin-X on the fogs.

Excuse the shitty camera/photographer.
