people who did the type-s conversion on their 04-06 base bumper!!

how did u get the type-s honeycomb grill inserted?
i went to the dealer and the part (71504-SEP-A20ZA) was too big compared to the middle gap.. and there isnt even any clips to hold the grill around the area..
anyone know the actual part number they got and was okay? or is it my bumper thats weird? plz help! thx

You cant put the honeycomb grill in ther because its a part of the 07-08 OEM bumper and is molded in.

To do my own spin on this, I went to home depot... bought what is called "gutter guard" mesh and is made of aluminum. Its meant to be put on the rain gutters of your home. I cut it to size with a pair of shears then glued it in place with liquid nails (after priming and painting).

Turned out great

I got the oem one in there.. Base 07-08 has a smaller grill but when remove... you can screw the type-s one in

The OP was talking about putting a type-S lip on an 04-06 bumber in which there is no oem honeycomb bumper cutout. However, the 07-08 base have a similar honeybomb portion which 04-06's do not.

If it was 07-08 base then yeah what your saying would work....
