Noob saying hi
Hello,
I am a noob to this forum but I am looking at buying a 2008 TL-S as soon as a nice one ends up becoming available in my area (within 200 miles). I have 2 I am looking at already. I was originally just browsing around when I kept ending up on this site and seeing how close the community was so I joined. The mods I have planned are rather basic and will have questions along the way.
Mods Planned:
A-Spec kit for the Type S
Cleared Headlights w/ some blacking out
LED Switchbacks (in headlight)
LED DRL's
LED Switchback Side lights
Possibly Clear tail lights
HID upgrade headlights (want to have a 600k matching lights up front)
HID Fogs
LED Interior Lights
Custom Grille (maybe)
I plan on absorbing as much information as possible, the only thing I have noticed so far with all my searching is that I am only finding older posts with missing picks and dead links. That and Technology changes so fast that I am having trouble finding the updated LED/resistors to use. I will keep digging and see what I can find though and ask when I get cornered lol

Hello! Just wondering what you have against the 2007 Type S? ;-D they are virtually unchanged between the years.
As for your mods sounds like you have some decent plans. Don't forget about getting fluids changed and getting everything else in tip top shape first if it isn't wlready.
The Type S headlights look pretty darn good from the factory and are blacked out as it is. For the switchbacks go with the VLED V3 Tritons or none at all (resistors built in). IMO it's the only way to go. Aspec kit is a good choice and will look nice! Not really feeling the clear taillights but that's ur call.

Welcome to AcuraZine, Grizz. Best of luck with your impending purchase.

Ask yourself to make sure if the Tls is for you. Do you like the form of the car? Or do you look for function and performance. The Tl-s is a nice overall car for it's sporty and luxury. If you want something medium and all around then the TL-S is would be a pretty nice bet. But if you're a hard core performance guy and plan to tune the car, do quarter miles or take it to the track and drift; then I would recommend getting a rear wheel drive or AWD. Do what will please you now and still please you in the future buddy!

Thank you for the warm welcoming.
@Villian while I have always loved the style of the 3G TL what actually landed me on it was the reliability and safety scores combined with the horsepower and decent MPG. It is going to be my daily family car that I can also have a little fun in and has the best style in its class IMO.
@JTS I have nothing against the 07, honestly I would get either year, it just seems more 08s are availiable in my area. Thanks for the heads up on the Switchbacks and I plan on having a full fluid/tuneup and possible timing belt/waterpump done when I get the car. So I am starting fresh.

Hey Grizzhound.
I'm saying "Hi" as well. I got lucky enough to get my 2008 Type-S last year and the same thing happened. I kept finding my way here. Amazing piece of hardware. WAY nicer than the 1990 Buick Century that was my last and newest car before it. =o)
