Mobil 1 full synthetic for $12ish (after rebate!)

Hey guys,
Thought I would pass some savings down to yall.. walmart has mobil 1 synthetic all oil types on roll back for $23.xx .(nothing new) But you can submit a 12$ rebate form online at :https://apfco.net/secure/R8235W/Home/Entry making your total cost $11.xx pre-tax. Additionally, you can check your rebate status here: Mobil Rebate Research

I believe the limit is 2 rebates per household.

Link for rebate form and details: https://apfco.net/secure/R8235W/Content/OfferForm.pdf

you can get upto $15 back for oil + filter . just thought it was a good deal to pass along. came at aperfect time as i'd due for my oil change soon.

Walmart supertech oil is Mobil 1 rebranded. So when the rebate is no more you can still get Mobil for a great price!!

Walmart is not on the list of participating retailers for the rebate. So, be aware of this before purchase. You can contact Mobil to confirm if the rebate applies to purchases at Walmart or not.

Thanks for the tip abg2257!

Called Mobil and Walmart is a participating retailer even though it's not listed. They mentioned that the receipt description should have the type and qty (quarts) listed. If it doesn't, they said a picture of the UPC will work. Customer service was very helpful and friendly too.

Thanks for contacting Mobil to confirm that Walmart purchases are included in the rebate, even though they are not on the participating retailer list.

I'd love to know your source for this, because all I can find is that depending on what part of the country you're in, Supertech is made by several different major oil companies, one of them being Exxon Mobil. That hardly means that Supertech is "rebranded" M1.

Regardless, Mobil 1 is a good oil, but only their " Extended Performance" line is fully synthetic.

I live in Ohio as you can see under my name. And my source is not your concern, I am just stating this for others to benefit from.

If you're going to make bold claims regarding a critical maintenance component on a car forum and sway impressionable people into believing your claims, I'm free to make it my concern. Whether or not you want to provide any supporting documentation is your prerogative. If you're trying to be helpful, why not go all the way and provide it?

whaaaa!! your saying that the only full synthetic oil offered by Mobil1 is the extended performance once? why are the other ones not considered full synthetic?

but on a positive note, the extended performance is also on sale for $26 and would also be covered by the rebate. your just paying 3 dollars more.

On paper Supertech and Mobil 1 is slightly different, so it's not a straight 1:1 rebrand. Not to say it's a bad oil, though.

Found the MSDS for the Super Tech 5W20 Full Syn. Distributor is Deflin Group, a Russian oil company...

http://msds.walmartstores.com/client...&subformat=NAM

Doesn't mean it's not fine oil, it's just not Mobil 1.

And for the uninformed, in the US, any Group III oil can be called Full Synthetic. This was due to an arbitration case. Google it.

Why don't you watch this and determine if Walmart Supertech is the same as Mobile1. The supertech crap oil HARDLY flows at low temp!

Well, that's the conventional SuperTech, not the "full syn" SuperTech, so that video is N/A for this discussion.

Although very impressive performance my M1!!

Here's the video with the SuperTech 5W30 syn. It does much better, even better than Castrol:

I live in Canada and use Mobil 1 synthetic exclusively (5w20). I remember two years ago on new years day it was -39 c that morning without windchill. I don't even use a block heater and the car started as usual, though not as quick as it normally would. Also a testament though to the AGM batteries.
