Manual TYPE-S WDP
Here is a WDP manual white TL-S that I saw in Canada, Alberta. I was just wondering how much you guys would pay for it, being as manuals are pretty rare and it has pretty low KMS at 75,000 which is also 46,602 miles. There are a few cosmetic blemishes and I did get it checked out by a mechanic which said it good except for rusting on the underside, dent on the front bumper, and passenger seat heating not working.

welcome my fellow canadian brother...yea very low kms...the ding on the front will need to be painted so that'll be an additional cost but if you don't care about that then no worries there....psngr side heat seat is prob a fuse maybe??
the main concern here is the rust underneath..are we talking subframe rust or just surface rust?
I personally would not pay 18k for a car with rust

Hey buddy! Yeah I heard it might be the heat pad and it was quite expensive to fix. The rust underneath was mostly on the nuts, and the alignment bushings.

Oh ok.....well in that case the rust isn't really much to be concerned about .. after all it is canada and some rust is to be expected as long as the frame isn't rusted all to shit.... as long as your ass is warm in the winter is all that matters LOL... i know it says he's not budging but maybe down to 18k so 800 off would be decent.. that way there you can get the ding on the front repaired.. I dunno man id prob jump on it.. super rare car.. I couldn't find a single type s for sale in all of atlantic canada!!!

Honestly, I have had much experience with Hondas and acuras over the last 15 years and I can assure you that for a desirable model there is no such thing as a good deal unless the car has a dirty history.
It's not uncommon for cars to come from out east to alberta. While they may be good deals, it comes at a price- that price being for when you have to replace anything suspension or brake related on the car. You'll never want an eastern car again once you go through it once. It can be a serious nightmare!

Here's a thought - get under the car and look for yourself. As an NJ driver, yeah, snow, salt, and rain will provide a layer of rust, but it seems as though everyone is confusing this with the death knell known as frame rust.

Many people don't want Easter bunnies in Alberta, but those who are ok with them get nice cars for much cheaper than local. Sometimes they get driven over and sold, but a lot of times they come from auctions.
OP, you should just pull the vin and see what's up. I bet you there's something!

That '08 sounds like a decent buy.

No, not just surface rust. Bolts rust. And rusty bolts are a bitch. It's a 7 year old car. If it's been winter driven out east, it'll be a bitch. That's not to say you can't drive it, but just keep in mind that repairs will take much longer and/or be more expensive.

I did pull up the VIN, I used autocheck nothing came up, everything seemed pretty clean. Has anyone used autocheck, is it pretty reliable? Idk though, his panels are shifted a bit on the rear bumper too.

For cryin' out loud, that's a bit extreme isn't it? Some of us look after our vehicles whether winter driven or not. Mine has been driven minimally in the winter, but also has been undercoated each year as well.

yes a bit extreme for sure.. but trust me I've dealt with my fair share of rust but you are right. As long as its taken care of and undercoated then should be good to go...
