Looking at a 2006 TL... need some help
Hey guys! New to the forum and I have a question.
Situation: always had a company car, now moving to an allowance and have to turn the car in. I'll be looking at new cars but I don't want to make a $60k mistake so I found this Acura to use as a "bridge car" so I can get to my office 2x per month in Rochester (from boston) until I decide on the perfect new car...
2006 TL with 56k miles (Yes56k)
$6500
2 owner
Clean carfax
Some vehicle history... not all
What should I look for as far as issues?
Thanks!

I'm a car guy so I'll definitely. Check the general stuff..
I was just wondering if there were specific things.. like with Saab... must have crank case ventilation upgraded or you are driving a smudged timebomb...etc...

in general, these cars are pretty bullet proof.
what we dont know is of that individual car. it could have been treated like crap, or it could have lived its life as a garage queen. we just dont know.
and yes, Honda transmissions suck. Be sure to take it on a extended test drive, 30 mins or more to see if its shifting correctly

Do you have any pictures of it?
Things to look at: tire wear, bottom lips of bumpers (helps determine how hard the car would face inclined surfaces), tears/stains on interior, all bells and whistles work. Also as mentioned take it for a quality test drive. Push the car, but don't beat on it (unless the owner isn't with you). Make sure the shift points are smooth. Check the oil color/odor, Trans fluid color/odor. Exterior inspection, Check the A/C, Heat, Heated Seats, Radio, Navi (if applicable). Good indication of how it is kept is the engine bay cleanliness and the driver side rocker. If those are clean and rather scratchless I am sure it was taken care of.
If those check out ok, I'd say that is a STEAL for the price/mileage! DO IT!
