I had taken my car to a professional shop and they had soldered it and did everything perfect. I am very happy with the product. Thank you.

I wish I saw the group buy earlier. I have something like this on my wife's car and I love it. Any ideas on a possible third group buy?

we're not planning on another one any time soon, but they are availible for purchase through our website.

We are also planning on running a special Acurazine price as soon as we get some free time to develop a special 'buy it now' button we can use on this forum.

Alright, was driving today and its an 06 acura TL and My car turned off, just the ignition or whatever and my radio was working and everything just my whole car turned off while I was driving.... now... it was pretty serious while I was driving? I think it might have been from this mod maybe? i dont know... im not blamin this mod... but does anyone have any clue on what I should do. I FOR SURE, don't want that to happen again, and is it ok to turn the car on while the car is in motion or will it ruin the transmission?

We've never had anyone else report this problem. I find it very unlikely that this module had anything to do with your car shutting off.

The KPtech red wire taps in to the power window module power wire (protected by OEM 20A fuse)

The KPtech yellow wire taps in to the RAP wire (protected by I think a OEM 7.5A fuse, it might be a 10A though)

The KPtech black wire taps in to ground

The KPtech blue wire taps in to your door lock actuator

The KPtech green wire taps in to the door cylinder signal that goes directly to the BCM

None of these signals should have the ability to stop the motor, under any condition.

Sounds like an engine problem. Could happen if you ran outta gas or something - i'm not a mechanic by any means but know enough to cause damage. If you were able to start your car up again and it ran w/o a problem I'd take it into a dealership to have them look into it. Wouldn't even mention the mod cuz it shouldn't have anything to do with it.

pop it to neutral and crank the engine if you want to restart in motion then pop it back to drive. but i would recommend pulling over slowly then try to restart.

I need help

I just put mine in last Wed. and it stopped working today. I used it last night around 10:30pm, and when I tried to use it today at 2:00pm, it won't work. My windows still roll down with the remote(sunroof too) so its not a fuse. I checked all my connections and they look good. Anyone have any ideas??

O.K., I got it to work but...............
the only way it works is if I remotely lower the windows some more first.
So if I've lowered the windows from inside the car, get out, hit the lock button twice on the remote, nothing happens. If I then use the remote to lower the windows more than they were, and hit the lock button twice on the remote, it works and everything closes.
Any ideas on why?
It worked correctly when I installed it.

Make sure you are leaving enough time in between 'LOCK' pulses. If you push the 'LOCK' button twice too quickly the module will not respond.

If you are leaving enough time and it still isn't working properly let me know and we can take a look at it under warranty.

Thanks,

I tried several different times, adjusting time in between, and the only time I could get it to work was immediately after remotely lowering the windows more.
As soon as I let off of the unlock button, I hit the lock button immediately, then hit it again (quicker than 2 seconds later) and it worked.
This was when I was working on it last night, I haven't tried it today yet.

It doesn't sound like connections since it seems to work repeatedly after you lower the windows more. Are you 100% that you have your timings right? i thought mine didn't work because of the timing issue. It isn't a matter of hitting the lock again UNDER 2 seconds, you can hit it TOO quickly and it won't work either.

Just trying to help.

Actually, your right. I think my timings might be off.
I thought you had to wait 2 secs or so, but mine seems to be ALMOST immediately after. It seems like I can never get it the first time and have to do it twice ( Four lock pulses ).
It's gonna take some more practice to get used to the exact timing.

Try standing next to the car and listening to the door lock actuator. You can hear the actuator pulse. As soon as the pulse ends you have approximately 1 second to push the 'LOCK' button again.

The door locks are controlled by the BCM so the actuator pulse is identical in time each time you push the 'LOCK' button. Once you get the timing down you should be able to repeat it with no issues!

FYI, I've confirmed the kp module can be activated via the manual door lock as well.

ok, i've spent about an hour trying to get this thing to work and still no luck. i'm using the 18-22 gauge cilps and i found that when i crimped the small Acura wires, the actual wire wasn't connecting with the crimp, the plastic around the wire was just being pressed. so, i very carefully removed a mm of plastic from the two sides of the wire where the crimp was and then recrimped the wire.

now, my key fob won't lock the doors. it still unlocks the doors (and lowers the windows) and the opens trunk. what wire connection am i having trouble with? i really need an answer quickly because my door is taken apart right now and i've got to wash my car before it gets dark.

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If your keyfob won't lock the doors check to make sure EVERYTHING is closed. If the hood, doors, or trunk was accidently popped during testing the doors won't lock.

i just went out and checked the connections again and when i put it all back together (and made sure the doors were completly shut), i tried it and it still didn't work.

after playing with the timing, i got it finally work. it takes some practice to get the timing right.

so, now everything it installed and my door is back together. thanks for everything. this is a great mod!!

I think people underestimate the importance of the timing! Again, this is a Honda thing, not a KPtech thing. I wish it were possible to speed it up a bit!

Any concerns about motor run time and damage to the motors or control circuits. Fronts and sunroof should be okay since they use the equivalent of a stepper motor system or at least something with feedback.

I am in the habit of double clicking to get the confirmation beep and don't want to give up on that. How have your habits and routines changed with this addition. Do you always double click even if the windows are closed ? Can you get a beep without activating the KP module ?

I'm no expert, but I don't see how anything could be damaged since the module is simply taking something that Acura provided (the ability to roll the windows/sun roof up from the exterior key point) and allowing remote access to it from the key fob.

From what I read on one of the first few pages in this post, it's simply a matter of pressing the lock button, waiting 2 or 3 seconds, and pressing the button again. The window roll-up feature is not activated but the confirmation beep is sounded.

BTW - I just ordered mine about 10 minutes ago...

Well, it came in and I finally got around to installing the module.

Two words! BAD ASS!

Simply press the lock button twice and everything rolls up... simply genius.

And with the install tips povided here, it's a painfully simple installation.

Except for the stripped out bolt on the lower left side of the door panel

Is your friend the person I have been talking with in Colorado?

There are two TL owners who are having issues getting their windows to go up, and as of right now we haven't figure out what is wrong. Both people are experiancing the same problem.

I've personally tested one of the modules and it works perfectly, which leads me to believe either the modules are installed incorrectly (doubtful, but possible) or something is different on their TL from everyone elses TL (doubtful as well).

I've spent quite a bit of time on the phone with the guy from Colorado, and I've been in contact with the other guy through PMs. I hope one of them figures out the problem. In the mean time I'm going to try and get some info on the exact wiring inside the door.

^Hmmm, I havent installed mine as of yet because I go to the dealer on wednesday b/c they are replacing burnt out light bulbs. However I have an 04 TL and when I press the button for the windows to go down, they do so but they stop 1/2 way down when I am ~30' from the car. I wondering if it is a problem, or a dying battery... I cant wait to put this in.
