Awesome!!!

I swear there is a TSX curse that prevents hooking up the door handle cable! I'm not sure why that car makes it so easy to forget, but it seems like a high percentage of people do at least once (and at least one person on here has done it twice but I won't mention my name).

The one touch sunroof would be directed towards the Accord sedan and the TSX. With all the combining of threads and cross posting I had no clue we ended up on the TL forum sorry! I do like it a lot better now that almost all the other threads have been locked and linked to this one, much easier to follow.

We're looking in to trying to find a distributor for cheap LED based test lights. These test lamps will allow for easy verification of all wiring and ease the installation of these modules.

Is this something that people would be interested in? We are looking for a tester that will cost under $15. What do you all think?

Not sure if you could make this install any easier other than plug and play. Just need to tap 5 wires and no soldering/splicing required.. piece of cake for most. You could start a new thread to ask for opinions on the LED test lights. You'll get more responses that way and it will help to keep this thread on the window up module clean.

I wouldn't bother with the LEDs. As long as there's a definitive point of hookup with clear concise directions it's really easy to do.

My problem was that there were 2 different points of hookup and 2 different types of wires to tap into. Only 1 would work for my application.

The LEDs would help but you'd still need to do the work get the wires right. You could easily test the mod at this point by plugging the window module back in.

It really isn't a hard mod to do, just requires some specifics. Cheers!

Installed mine tonight with no issues. I was a little nervous but all went very well once I identified the wires by removing the wrap tape.

My install was pretty much identical to fast4dr except for the fuse.

Worked perfectly the first time (once I figured out the timing and that there was a delay after hearing the locks lock.)

Thanks!

TL sorry, so it was basically a copy of fast4drs install. I actually had the laptop in the drivers side footwell and just read/looked at the pictures as I went along.

Sorry, as a professional installer, you should ALWAYS test the wires, even if you think they are the right wires.

As for the LED tester, its better then a regular bulb tester, but you should never work on a new car with a test light. Always use a DMM or DVM.

My thoughts exactly.

However, the downside to the 'always use a dmm' rule is that most people 1. don't have a dmm and 2. don't know how to set it up and use it properly. You can get a 'cheap' dmm for around $20, but you still have to know how to use it.

I like the idea of an LED tester because they are MUCH cheaper then $20 and they are very easy to use.

I test every wire, on every module, no matter what. Its an old habit, and not one that I want to break!

I am about ready to attempt installation of this module tonight..
then another thought came to mind, currently, we will have to press unlock twice, then hold the unlock button in order for the windows to open. I feel this holding the unlock button might drain the battery on remote prematurely (shorter battery than normal operation) And it seems to be a pain to have to hold it for the period of time for the period of time until all window opened. How about an updated module with existing closing function plus it will allow window open automatically after 2 or 3 press on unlock button instead of holding it.. Just a thought..

We are planning on developing such a module, but we don't have a time table for it yet. We have been planning on adding this feature for the past year! Unfortunately, with our limited resources we end up spending more time developing new products then modifying exiting ones. If we ever add this feature it will require you to push 'lock' then 'unlock' to lower the windows.

argg... for the life of it, I couldn't get the stopper screw (left lower phillip screw)off in order to remove the door panel. When I try to unscrew it, it just keep spinning in place. Any suggestion.. this become very frustrating.

have a chat with datmrman and he suggested that i use a nose plier to held the snug in the back in place. it seems lembowski ran into the same issue when he was removing his door panel. Will attempt this again this weekend after i pick up some nose pliers..

Lembowski had the same thing happen. "The stubborn screw." What happens is the plug that the screw is screwed into is slipping in place.

You should be able to unscrew it a little. After that, lift the panel out a bit, use a nose plier to go behind the panel and hold onto the plastic plug. Then try to unscrew from the front while holding onto the nose plier (keeping it in place). It worked for us.

Before putting the panel back, lembowski added super glue to prevent the plastic plug from slipping again. Here, I thought his car was special. Guess not.

Good luck!

I'm about ready to pull this this weekend, however, I'm not getting 18-22 gauge taps at Radio shak, can 18-14 work? or will be too loose/tight?

Most of the wires you tap into are pretty small. I would recommend the 18-22 guage taps.

The wire on the KPtech unit is 20 gauge. The wires in teh car are of all different sizes, some are bigger, some are smaller.

Keep in mind taht this is going to mount in your drivers door and be subjected to excessive vibration every time you shut your door! If you choose to use wire taps I would at least get the appropriate size.

I think they should work fine on the thicker wires. Not sure about the thinner ones. $1.99 for 22-18 gauge at Radio Shack/Fry's and you don't have to worry.

For extra protection I put small wireties around each wire tap, wiretied bundles of wires together so no invidual ones could be stressed and then wrapped each in electrical tape as well.

Ditto... i wrapped all the taps in electrical tape, shoved the bundle back into the plastic duct and then wrapped the whole thing. In addition to vibration there's also water to think about as the interior of the door - at leat on the TSX - gets wet.

Finally, got mine module installed after I got a longest nose plier I can get from Sears to get the stopper plug stopped spinning in place.

The write up from FAST4DR is great and supplement diagram from datmrman help a ton.

I also notice that my driver side rear window goes up before the front driver side window. It seems to be the same behavior as I would using the key to close all the window. BTW, I also did the shaved door lock mod

Moving on next mod now. I got AEM CAI and OEM Deck lip spoiler sitting next to me now. CAI or Deck Lip .. or Both..

Hey kevin..

It should have been sent out early this week, so you should have it sometime in the next few days.

this is a great mod. between the first post by fast4dr and waacow pics, which are all excellent btw. It made the installation very easy. It's very clear which wires to connect to and works great. I was one of the first (if not the first) to order the module when the link was posted from the accord forum, but I waited because I really don't know what I'm doing with auto electronics. Waacow's picture was the one that cleared everything up for me. I hooked it up and it worked, then I went back and wrapped everything up with electrical tape, just be be sure. Unfortunately my installation isn't quite as neat as fast4dr's but it does the job.

Thanks GUYS!!!

I find it so useful, i even leave windows open on purpose to amaze my friends.

Just to give proper credit, it is fast4dr + datmrman pic. Thanks should go out to them for their contribution. I didn't create the pic.
