Interior Bulbs

Does anyone have the part number of the bulb that controls brightness on the instrument cluster?
Also, bulbs for the phone/navigation voice control?

Are these easy to replace? It seems most of the old links no longer work.

The bulbs on the controls around the instrument cluster are easy to replace. Drop the steering wheel out of the way, pull down on the top of the cowl until the clips break loose, and unplug the wire harnesses.

The bulbs on the steering wheel are another story. You have to unplug and remove the SRS unit. I personally haven't done it.

The bulbs themselves are removed and installed with a quarter turn.

See these diagrams for part numbers:
Any of those can also be replaced with aftermarket T3 wedge LED bulbs, just make sure to match color.

Site note: LEDs tend to run insanely bright, so I don't really recommend them here (We need a vendor that can tone it down). LED replacements will also be polarized and require testing before reassembly.

Thanks for the replies. I won't be removing the airbag to replace a bulb. Too much hassle.

It is not that big of a deal to remove the airbag. I swapped my steering wheel with the new one under 40 minutes on my lunch break at work ;-)

OK thanks, I'll look into it more. My 3rd gen TL is in mint condition with 40K miles and these burned-out bulbs start to bother me.

It's all fairly easy? Can somebody direct me to illustrated step-by-step instructions on replacing the bulbs around the instrument cluster and steering wheel? I also need to replace the bulbs for the brightness control and HFL.

I also need to replace the bulbs for the seat heater buttons. I've already ordered them but haven't had the time to figure out how to access the buttons.
