Hello all

New member here. Been an Acura owner for a while. First one was a Milano Red 99 Integra GSR, and then the second was a 2000 black GSR. Traded that one in on an 07 TL Type S over the weekend. Been wanting this car since it came out and now she's finally mine. 103k miles on the clock and seems to be running strong so far. Taking her to my Acura tech friend tomorrow to give it a once over. Needs a couple odds and ends, but I'm loving it so far. Anyway, here's the pretty lady.

Congrats and welcome aboard. Just be aware you are very likely due for the 105K service, which is the first major service for your TL.

Post pix of your GSRs if you have them!!

Nice look NBP Type S (nighthawk black pearl if not familiar yet), great picture. Auto or manual? I assume auto, but we always gotta ask :-)

I would have, but I still owed money on it. The GSR was trouble. It broke a valve a year ago and I was able to swap on a new head, but still consumed oil like no other. I just wanted to wash my hands of it and move up.

It's an auto. I was wanting a manual for the longest time, but as you all know, they're hard to find.

Awesome. I love mine too. The paint has a decent amount of scratches on it, so I may have to have a professional take care of it. Curb rash on all four wheels, too. It pains me to think the previous owner didn't care for the car. Mine has 103k on it. Gonna have to have the 105 service done on it soon, but I'm not too worried about that. My friend said it looked pretty good. Runs strong too.

Joining the party

I'm on the same boat as the OP. Just bought a TL-S (Kinetic Blue) last week with 61k on the clock. I'm hoping to have a lot of fun miles ahead of me. First Acura, and man what a beauty it is to finally drive one. Cheers on the new TL!

You too! Kinetic Blue Pearl is a sexy color. It was one of the three I was looking for. (Black, red, and blue.)

Yea, I went for the blue! But the black is just as sexy. Let's be real here, the TL-S is just a sexy car. Not many cars from 07-08 turn so many heads.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. Looks like for now, I'm going to dive into the car and remove the intake resonator and do the exhaust resonator replacement and mid muffler delete. Probably the J pipe after I get a bit of extra money saved up.

Save your money on the J-pipe and put that money into the suspension. You'll hear it across AZ from the guys who've gone down your road in the past and now know better.

You'll never make the TL fast. You can, however, make it really fun to bomb around in and throw it into turns.

For $400 bucks you can gain 10hp which you will barely feel. Or you can get an upgraded rear sway bar for half that price and watch how tiny cars get in your rear view mirrors when you push through a corner

I'm not really gonna push the car hard. I may have a bit of fun in her, but I just want more engine sound. I understand what you're saying though and I appreciate the advice. =)

Try the mid muffler delete alone, you might just like what you hear and it's alot cheaper. Congrats on the purchase too!

Welcome.

I picked up my 04 TL base with 16k a couple weeks ago. Loving every mile I log on it and have A LOT of catch-up miles to put on it.

<<<@!1!@>>>

I found a video of that and it sounded a bit raspy still. This video is pretty close to what I want.
I just have to figure out which resonator to get that will give me the deepest note. I might get rid of that third cat, too.

To each his own I guess! I was just suggesting the MM delete since it's more affordable and that's what I've been running and I personnaly like it. I'm sure you'll find the sound you prefer. Good luck and have fun with the car!

Well I know some might not enjoy the idea too much, but I thought it looked pretty good on the black car... I bought some Rustoleum lens tint and blacked out my tails. The pics are kinda crappy cause I snapped them this evening after a long day in the work parking lot, but here ya go.

Yeah. As I figured, some wouldn't like it. Had I gotten anything but the black, I wouldn't have done it either. I'm happy with the result, though.
