Excelerate Performance has spent an extensive period of time working with Acurazine members and Acura vehicles on their XLR8 brake packages. We’ve tested, installed and used on our very own vehicles the brake components in these very packages.

These Acurazine brake packages are designed to improve braking performance and durability at a reasonable price. The packages in a nutshell include STOPTECH performance rotors, which are offered in premium blank, slotted, drilled, or drilled and slotted, and STOPTECH Performance pads. All of the rotors have a black e-coating on the hubs and vanes and an advanced alloy composition. The STOPTECH slotted rotors for the front of some Acuras are also a Curved Vane Power Alloy Disc, which helps reduce heat in the brake system and utilizes more durable alloys. The STOPTECH Performance pads are a para-aramid compound, which has great initial bite and long-term performance and lower dust and noise than most aftermarket brake pads.

We have a multitude of different packages available for the Acurazine community. Each package comes with front and rear STOPTECH rotors and STOPTECH Street Performance Pads. We also now offer packages with our XLR8 Stainless Steel Brake Lines included.

The Stoptech Street Performance Brake Pads that come with these packages are a para-aramid compound, which has great initial bite and long-term performance and lower dust and noise than most aftermarket brake pads. Their Maximum Operating Temperature (MOT) is 1300°F which is higher than any other street pad currently on the market. Not only do they perform well in hot temperatures they also perform well in cold temperatures. We have plenty of customers who run these pads in sub-zero climates and have no problems.




Our XLR8 Stainless Steel Brake Lines are made up of teflon hose that has an extruded teflon core with an outer stainless steel braided wire covering. The ends are then permanently crimped on each end. Each line is then finished with a black PVC cover, which gives added protection from flying debris or further abrasion protection from the line rubbing on suspension components. All lines are DOT certified and manufactured for us by an industry expert who has 25 years of experience.

You may want to mention your 13" BBK too. I think I posted the actual stopping distances compared to stock and to the Rotors BBK somewhere on here. The numbers speak for themselves.

do you happen to know if the rotor setups for the Type S are lighter than stock and if so by how much? I havn't seen this data anywhere and i was just curious, ill be in the market for new brakes come spring/summer so i will likely be stopping into XLR8 to get one of these packages installed plus some other goodies. Warm weather can't come soon enough!

I'm heavily considering going with one of these brake packages in the future (OE rear rotors warped), especially since you've given me such great customer service in the past.

I'm also considering getting the SS brake lines when I do, but am wondering about them since I've never considered maintaining my braking system until I've had to do some emergency stops on the highway and drag strip in the last few years. A quick search tells me that SS brake lines can last less than conventional lines, but it seems that yours have an external PVC tubing that prevents failure that plague regular SS lines. Does that mean that these offer all the pros of going SS over OE without any drawbacks?

The SS lines should last the life of the car. It's a stainless steel braided line with a teflon coating so there is no drawback and nothing to worry about.

XLR8 Performance now offers our very own XLR8 Stainless Steel Brake Lines. Each stainless steel brake line is made up of teflon hose that has an extruded teflon core with an outer stainless steel braided wire covering. The ends are then permanently crimped on each end. Each line is then finished with a black PVC cover, which gives added protection from flying debris or further abrasion protection from the line rubbing on suspension components. All lines are DOT certified and manufactured for us by an industry expert who has 25 years of experience.

The advantage of stainless steel brake lines is in the reduction of volumetric expansion from heat. Over time and under continuous use, the stock rubber lines can swell and expand, resulting in a mushy pedal or brake fade. The rubber cover is also susceptible to deterioration and failure. Stainless steel lines help prevent this expansion and keep your pedal firm and can protect from the flying debris your brake lines may be exposed to.
