Engine Support Bar Attachment Points
What's up Azine. I am currently doing a clutch and flywheel replacement on my 08 Type S. I am using a Harbor Freight engine support bar for the job. I came across a video of Eric the car guy doing a engine replacement on a 04 TL. He was using the attachment bracket located near the power steering pump as one point of support and the other was under the throttle body/intake manifold as the second point to lift the engine out of the car.
Is the second point under the intake manifold a safe location to support the engine? It would make me nervous to use the intake manifold as I am thinking it would possibly crack or rip out the bolts. Please let me know? Thank you.
Here is the video. Its a 01:45 in.

why remove the engine when you can just remove the trans OR drop the whole engine and subframe from the bottom.

Yes, that was the plan to drop the subframe. I have mostly everything apart. Just waiting to unbolt motor mounts and then drop the subframe. I have the engine support ready to go. Just don't know if I use the intake manifold as one point of support like in the video.
