Dyno'd my TL today
Attended a dyno day today. Pretty happy with the results of my basically stock TL-S. Verified the engine is nice and healthy for having 146k.
Enjoy!
The car has a stock S2000 paper filter with about 40k miles, pre-mufflers deleted and a glass pack added, also cut open the stock mufflers and welded a Y-Pipe in them for a stealthy "straight pipe". No other mods.
The guy who was doing the O2 probe wasn't really doing a good job, I don't think it stayed in any of my three runs.

No big plans for this car. It's my daily. I originally planned to dyno my S2000 this day, but ended up not being able to. So I went ahead and dyno'd the TL instead. The car will probably end up with a K&N Intake when I eventually replace it. I usually upgrade instead of replace oem. Would be nice to get flashpro, but that probably won't ever happen
Yes it is a manual. I had to drive all the way from NC to CT to purchase it, they're getting harder and harder to find. Thanks for the kind words.

You know i've been playing with cars since my 20's (now in my 40's) and I've never had any of my cars on the Dyno... I'd really like to put my TL on and get a baseline before I do any mods.
How much did your Dyno run cost you?
Nice run BTW, impressive WHP.

Dyno time is normally charged by the hour depending on whether or not you're getting any tuning done. The cheapest way to go about it is to join in on a dyno day. That's what I did. The particular one I did was $45 for 3 pulls with a printout, and included hotdogs and drinks for the day. This was my first time dynoing a car too. It does feel quite nice getting some validation of what the car makes and having the piece of mind that there's nothing wrong.

Nice runs! Definitely PM me and let me know if you need help picking out some aftermarket parts to bump up horsepower!

Nice numbers - especially on a Mustang dyno. My 04 6MT made 240whp stock on a dynojet. I'd hate to see how bad it would do on a Mustang!
I had an H22 CD5 Accord too! Loved that car. My favorite mod was the NSX caliper swap. I should have kept that car and just turbo'd it. I nearly bought a 350whp CD5 last year, but decided to get back to a 3G TL instead.
Got any other mods planned for the TL?

Yeah, that CD5 and I went through some sh*t hahahaha. It was a good car for a long time and I owned it twice. After getting rid of it the first time it was never the same though. The guy after me ran it into the ground nearly running it dry on oil and running regular gas. It felt like a pig by the time I got it back and was in need of a rebuild. Unfortunately, the chassis had about 300k on it by then and just wasn't up to the task. So I reluctantly sold it again. Good times and good memories though, for sure.
Not really planning on any other mods. It's my daily. Will likely end up with an intake instead of replacing what it's got now and may one day end up with flashpro and some Koni Yellows to go with the springs it has, but that will be about it. My S2000 is my toy.

Machines aren't created equal and that's why they need to be calibrated to provide accurate measurements. This isn't specific to dynos, it's for all tools and equipment that are used for fine measurements.

All depends on calibration. A properly calibrated dyno will read correct so long as it's being used for power levels it was calibrated for. The same dyno the same day was off quite a bit in the upper 500-600hp power levels. It was calibrated around 300hp, and everyone in that level was getting very accurate numbers.

I may be selling my '04 TL 6MT before too long. Haven't made up my mind for certain but I had better get off the pot because I already have another car on order.

What is filter mode FIR?
Can they do a SAE correction? That would give you a number that most people use.
