Deer wins again

This past Tuesday, June 28th, a doe decided it was time for my car to have a dent . Before Tuesday the only damage was one tiny door ding on the passenger door and minor rock chip damage on front end. The doe accomplished her goal. May she rest in peace.

If my '04 base wasn't totaled with the same exact panels smashed, I should hope your '07 Type S sure isn't.

Idk, it might be salvageable, but if there is damage beyond the cosmetics on the outside then it will probably be scrapped.

To the OP: How fast were you going when that guy jumped out on you?

Glad you're ok. That deer knew you had a rare color S with the Aspec kit. I would fix it if it isn't total. Did the fender scratch your door and pillar from being pushed?

DreenspadesL I was doing 60 to 65, U didn't even see the deer till it was inches from my car. It looked like she was sliding while trying to stop.

MBP_TL: The fender did scratch the door.

The car is at an ERIE recommended body shop. I'm waiting for an estimate.

That hurts like hell to look at...

For those of us that drive in deer infested areas, all I can say is do your best!!!

Best of luck with the insurance and reapir process, despite the damage, nice TLs!!!

That's a bummer! Hope it works out for you. I just recently bought my TL and THIS is what I worry about the most out here! Those deer bolt out so freakin quick!

Would I get any benefit if I paid extra for the body shop to use genuine Acura Parts?

Personally, since it's pretty much a ten year old car now, I'd use used OEM Parts.

Did they stipulate whether they were new parts of used ones? I wouldn't use after market parts. Those are shit compared to Honda OEM parts quality (generally). Get used OEM parts. You'll save a ton and get good parts that'll last a lifetime.

when it comes to aftermarket or oem, the customer has very little say, unfortunately. most likely there's going to be recycled(used oem) parts involved since there aren't any aftermarket bumpers for the type S.

The damage to my TL was set at $7500 and the insurance is paying to fix it. When I heard $7500 I figured the car would be totaled but because it was so clean inside and out it will get repaired.
