As an olive branch, an ON TOPIC related pic.

To be honest with you Chad, out of all my years here on Acurazine, I've rarely sold anything to anyone here. For those that personally know me know the amount of blood, sweat and tears that went into my car. My Acura is not up for grabs for anyone including vultures for parting out. I didn't dump the money I did for some kid to buy my TL for peanuts and destroy what I've worked so hard to create over the years. Besides, at this point in my life, most people already know that the TL will be with me for a very long time. FYI: There's nothing tacky or "screwed up" with my TL. My car is in pristine condition almost flawless.

Resale is low because the car is old now, regardless of what's been done to the TL or not. Part of being here for as long as we all have, is the respect given to one another. You're not new to this game. We all did this together starting out. I don't get what the deal is with someone else input. I had this issue with some members here who wanted to be set in their ways (and clearly wrong) and resort to personally attacking members and putting them down. Don't be that person..

Staying on topic,
I have the Philips 85122+ bulbs. I've noticed a much improved difference at night. Again, my bulbs were dying out since one turned pink on me.

On topic:

85122+ are great and I'm sure a nice upgrade from Stock.

CBI's are currently the best whitest, and brightest.

Morimoto XB35's (honestly, not even sure how it even came up in this thread that was comparing the above two) are a nice budget friendly bang for your buck type bulb. I would not hesitate to purchase if price-conscious.

To everyone reading in the future:
Stick with oem "control units and ignitors" (Ballast are the aftermarket term) and just replace the bulb with one of the above if they're dying. Always replace in pairs because if one goes out, the other is likely on its way out as well.

Apologies to the future AZ members coming onto this thread for the egomaniacal members that ask questions to sound intelligent, answer themselves, and disregard input from anyone else (Why they bothered asking in the first place is beyond me too). They are few and far between and not indicative of Acurazine as a whole; there's good people here Welcome.

I agree...funny enough, directly at it, you could tell the 85122+...but from the light it shoots, it was PRETTY close to the CBI. If I were on a budget and wanted a nice bump in lumen...I would NOT hesitate to go that route. I'm curious what my current S2000 has in it, just haven't opened the rear of the headlight for anything yet.

Is it my imagination, or do the CBIs give off a more purple light on initial startup and then whiten up 30 or so seconds later?

Could be...I have to recheck since I'm never actually looking at the bulb...I am positive it whitens as it warms up though.

I notice it mostly in large parking lots. If I leave the gym and it's dark, the ground looks more purple. Maybe my parents just did acid and I'm experiencing the fallout?

I took the cbi bulbs from my TL and put them in my G37.

When they were in my TL I did not notice much purple at initial startup but ever since they been in my G37 there is a deep purple color for the first 2 seconds on startup and it immediately warms up to white.

I just thought it had to do with the ballast in my G

I still have both the TL and the G. The TL is back to 100% stock now though. I parted everything out over the last 2 months.

Pics of the day I brought the G home with the TL

In this pic I just got my headlight back from Bruce who did a very mediocre job but oh well. CBI lights, v3 5k triton switchbacks & those $100 2800 lumens 5k white fog light bulbs from VLEDs. I think they are called VX something.

Showcasing my new headlights and grill. I didn't like all the chrome of the factory grill (look at my pics when I first brought the G home up top) so I decided to get it painted 2-tone

It's still on topic...it's headlight related

Looks great, man...why mediocre? his first time doing G lights? Bruce is usually good on that stuff.

That purple you guys are talking about may just be an effect from the high voltage startup from the ballast + the fresnel lens of the TL. Wouldn't worry too much about it as long as the final outcome is to your liking

but the acid theory is highly probable ...

I got the 50w ballasts. Looks great and works great. Not much to say. I went back to the typeS lenses. In my opinion it looks better with the typeS lenses because of the overall quality. The light is more evenly spread and it actually brighter on the sides because the light is more evenly spread. True the cut off is not as defined but around the sides the cutoff was dim because zkwr has no zexel. So I experienced a more dim but we'll defined cutoff on the sides with zkwr but more evenly spread out light with the typeS lenses. Also, with zkwr , I saw these little streaks of light instead of even light. Crazy. It really bothered me. So "overall", considering the pros and cons of both lenses, I went back to the typeS lenses. TypeS lenses only adds a touch of zexel anyway, so its not like its drastically different than the zkwr. It's just a better quality light, in my opinion. The typeS lenses could be closer to the zdk-r lenses than the base TL lens. It seems I remember more output when I got my new headlights a few years ago. But that is only sotp judgement.

This isn't a projector lens thread.
Also, no pictures to post to show how uber bright the 50 watt kit is?

No joke. I'm happy you're happy. If you weren't, we'd have never heard about it.

Right, its not about "projectors". Its about bulbs and ballasts I guess.. I mentioned the lenses for free. Kinda like the pictures of your Infinity..

I did not post pictures because I have not taken any. Pictures really don't tell the whole story unless you are comparing side by side 2 bulbs in the same snap-shot anyway.. Cameras adjust for luminosity.. difficult to show.. I can say that so far my headlights are brighter than anything else I pulled up next to, but then again I have only driven once at night. Someday I might post some pics if I run across a decent place to take a few pics.

I agree though, hard to capture the true lighting.
