OH I'm sure that YOU paid - but did the Charity receive any of the money everyone paid?

I got an envelope with stickers in them today.

Actually, I got several sets of stickers in an envelope, so LMK if AZ runs short for other participants.

Let's be honest here. This is a flat-out pathetic support of the charitable patrons for this drive and is a year-over-year recurrent theme. This is not the first drive in which I've donated, but the first drive in which I've received my stickers.

I'll come out and state it flatly, and I honestly don't care if the end result is the vilification on my AZine personae, but I only donate to get the sticker, and I damn well know I don't stand alone (anyone contesting this point is wholly delusional).

Still, I have donated year-over-year because I believe the AZine community is of the finest ilk we'll find in an automotive enthusiasts forum.

It'd be a curious hypothesis to see how much traction the effort would gain if the annual threads were not "Where the hell is my sticker" and "Got my sticker right away". Donations have been dropping year-over-year. Maybe it's time to start asking why.

I've received stickers every year, although this year was the latest I've ever received them.

The last couple of years, I only signed up after donating to enter the prize drawing; I really don't need any more stickers.

Guys, you're missing the point-this is about Child's Play, not the stickers!

The point is about raising money for Child's Play; I'm quite sure the charity would be much happier with $10k of donations provided by a selfish mass rather than the $6k for those true of heart.

The spirit of philanthropy in thie vein is all for naught without dollars moving in tow; IB could do both AZine and the drive a solid and just follow through with delivery in short order.

I appreciate the forum allowing me to discuss this point freely and will be abdicating the soapbox on this topic. Look, it sucked missing goal by such a large margin last year and I hope we perform better in 2016. Addressing this issue would only help.

I agree with Death Metal. My concern with creating the thread was simply a quick, "hey, were my stickers overlooked?" Apparently I stumbled upon something much larger - why the hell would Azine make such a BIG deal about the ONLY way to get stickers being through this charity donation other than to increase donations? I could donate to MY preferred charity, but I decided to give to Child's Play thru Azine because there was some incentive. I don't care what anyone thinks about that, but those that said they don't care if they get the stickers - hooray for you, I'm so proud of you.

Just like when you get a letter from the poor child in a third world country when you give them 65 cents a day, it's an incentive.

The thing that now plagues my mind is this, which hasn't been addressed by anyone, and I could not find anything online about - if it's been multiple years that people were promised stickers for donations yet didn't receive them, how do we know it wasn't 'promised' that the money would be donated, yet there was an 'oversight' by IB in mailing the check? Hmmm....

My thought too. I got the stickers from Steve, and thanks for that, but I don't believe I will be donating in the future for those exact reasons. Is my money actually used for Child's Play, that I'll never know.

Guys, the donation money is sent to Child's Play every single year. We've done this for years.

The money you send to the AcuraZine PayPal account is the sent forward to Child's Play. The stickers are simply a way to say "Thank you" for your donation.

IB was obviously late in getting out the AcuraZine stickers. I'm sorry about that.

Now, am I missing something else here?

I don't think we should worry about the money going to the foundation. This is something no company would want to fuck with. Not delivering the stickers in a timely manner is something I can see happening but not paying the charity would cause such a huge backlash and bad PR that nobody would even think of doing it.

(Plus it's probably super illegal and easy to investigate)

I think the widget wasn't used simply because of a coding issue....plain and simple.

As far as getting the stickers out, I think is was a communication issue.

I think this is getting blown WAY out of proportion. The money goes to Child's Play each and every year. The AcuraZine stickers were unfortunately delayed in mailing out.

Are we making this bigger than it needs to be?

Bigger than it needs to be? Seriously? I asked one question - THEN numerous others said for multiple YEARS they never received theirs.

I thank you for personally sending me mine, but should you have had to?

Communication issue? A multiple year communication issue?

Let's hope there was no communication issue with getting Child's Play their money... :-/

Guys,

1. I'm very sorry that many of you didn't get your stickers. I did not realize this was a multi-year "I didn't get my stickers" situation. As some of you know, I personally used extra stickers I had from the National Meet and mailed them with my own personal stamps to people. I even mailed them to Canada with my own money, which costs more.

2. Child's Play gets the money donated every year.
