Center Console Silver Trim Pieces

So the pieces that are silver that run on both sides of the center console, I cant remember the name of them, are still in great condition on my car but are starting to get marks on them, etc. My question is has anyone sprayed a clear coat over them to protect them and keep them from scratching, pitting, looking bad? I would assume if this was a good idea someone would have done it but I am just checking before I risk it and it looks horrible?! The clear coat I was thinking about using would be a spray paint type.

Trying to keep the TL looking great as long as I can!!!

Its not gonna make a bid difference just perhaps more glossier. It will protect them they would just look glossy. Most guys just wrap them in their preferred vinyl and/ or paint them.

Yea, I am trying to keep things as stock looking as possible, so painting or wrapping in vinyl would not match the other parts of the interior. I figured clear coat would be the closest.

Could always try a clear vinyl wrap. It could offer more protection and keep it looking as good as possible. Almost like clear bra for paint, but instead interior trim.

clear can backfire, as it can actually highlight the flaws/scratches

I recommend a light gray carbon fiber vinyl. it'll be very similar to the stock one

I plan on doing the 3M CF vinyl soon. Do not clean them with anything other than very soft terry cloth bc they will scratch easy. Plus clear coat would be too glossy might even turn yelloish imo. Ive seen others go w/ paint and what not but too shiny!

Those metal strips are very delicate. The pattern is just sort of painted on. They dent fairly easy. If you plan to paint or wrap them remember there are also those pieces on the doors too...if you want to have everything matchup.
