3G Windshield Replacement - OEM vs Aftermarket
So my windshield is cracked badly and needs to be replaced.
Is there any reason to get OEM over aftermarket?
Of course OEM will cost more I just don't want a thin layer aftermarket that will break easily.
Also I am unsure if the 3G TL (Type-S if it makes a difference in my scenario) that has any special features that I would need to get the OEM like heated windshield, rain sensing wipers, etc.

FWIW - I recently had my windshield replaced with Pilkington glass and have had no issues.

Have the same issue. I have some rock chips in mine but have been able to pass inspection the past couple years. Overall though my windshield is dinged up and not as clear to see through as it should. How much do the aftermarket windsheilds usually run?

In MA, we have glass coverage, but the place where I had the Pilkington windshield installed invoiced my insurance company $370.00 all in.

Read up about what's is loosely called the "acoustic layer" in some of the threads Turbonut linked. It could mean much to you if you value low road noise.
