2007 AT Reliability?

Well I just picked up a 2006 TL MT w/ 105k for a great price... and was originally supposed to be the wife's car.... but it turns out I like it A LOT!!!

So I also found a 2007 TL AT w/ Nav for a really good price also... the car has 125k.. and I am going to look at it later today for the wife. From the pics the car appears to be in really good shape w/ a clean title... I know that the ealier TLs had some AT tranny issues... but read that the '07+ didn't have as many troubles. I also know that this is about the time that the timing belt service is due.

I know it's a roll of the dice w/ any used car purchase... but what are my chances???

The 105k miles service very important should have been done already

check motor mounts, check for oil leak "oil pump" tend to leak on these cars, front lower control arms check bushings, check to see if any shocks are blown car will bounce nasty in medium bumps

Excellent summary of the few problems that I have had with my 07. Also check Power Steering pump and be sure that hose recall was done.
My 07 has 221,000 miles and has been great. I do have a very minor oil pump leak and the lca bushing replaced. Great car!

I have 211K miles on my 08. Gas, oil and go. That's about it. I do a 1x3 every 2 or 3 oil changes and it's been great.
