Likely due to the NSX only comes in one flavor - Sport Hybrid. The footnoted *hybrids have non hybrid versions. If you look back for the Honda Insight, which only came in hybrid flavor, it too was listed in the primary model line up section and not parsed to the *hybrid footnote.

I maintain, that if you are going to buy a RLX, go big or go home. The Sport Hybrid is the best secret in town. In a way I'm glad it is personally, but for Acura that is a shame.

Go Sport Hybrid go! Only 235 sold for the year, though, as opposed to 250 in 2015. Looks like the PAWS RLX is at least temporarily rising, too.

Just thought I'd throw this here. I was looking at a 2014 used RLX SH in San Antonio that went on the market Tuesday. It was sold in one day. Of course there is some other lunatic like me that jumped on it first.... ha
Seems like the used market is going to be a bit hotter on these.

The 2014 Sports Hybrid sales seems to be doing better, I found two with black interior that sold just days after being listed and before I could even look at them.

I know the overall numbers in this segment are insignificant. But comparatively they are dramatic in the RLX SH favor. Why Acura is not capitalizing on this, especially to market SH on the MDX is a head scratcher for me. And with the decline in competitors, they do not add up to SH formula of Power + AWD + minimized penalty of the former (efficiency). As historically true, it appears Honda has again brought to market a product the market is not yet ready to embrace. Maybe these numbers speak (whisper) otherwise.
It does reflect there IS a market segment with focus on this type of premium AWD hybrid Exec Sedan (as small as it may be). But it appears to be primarily contained within the forum community.

Will they build MDX Sport Hybrid at the regular USA site, or will they have to come in from elsewhere?
Capitalizing on the KC2 RLX Sport Hybrid: I don't think it'd matter. That plant is being used for other things, and I still say that it has always looked to me like Saiyama was never set up for mass production of the KC1 and KC2.

I'm with you. Very proud of the fact that I was one of the few buyers of an RLX Hybrid during the month of February. Loving every mile in my new ride.

^Interestingly, for those in the know who are searching used ones, if one is available in your town, you better jump on it. The likelihood is that only a couple are available at a time and those are usually not in a 200 mile radius of wherever you may be.

As you spend more time in the driver's seat the exclusiveness may fade. The more lasting advantage of being a Sport Hybrid owner is the smile you get each time you sit behind the wheel. Enjoy your ride and keep smiling.

I can't find a source that differentiates Hybrid vs non-hybrid RLX sales in Canada, but I have been told that roughly 50 per year were made in 2014 and 2015. Total Canadian RLX sales in 2016 was 107 units although I don't know how many were Sport Hybrids and how many were left over 2014's and 2015's. It is possible that they increased production of the Sport Hybrid slightly since they discontinued the PAWS version, but I can't find confirmation of that.

Couple observations:
-Looks like folks are gearing up for the new Accord. The current gen is getting long in the tooth; it's been the same basic shape since what, 2008?
-Nice to see the RLX hybrid jump. That means more lease returns will be coming in the future.
-More NSXs sold v. the RLX SH -- almost double. On a car that's $200k. Wow.
