Proud of my daughter
Wanted to share with all you helpful folks, my daughter is in the Acura family now. She just graduated collage in the spring and started teaching this fall. Been driving an older gran prix I bought her at 16, and she keep fare care of it. So she wanted a new car, and she now owns a 16 ILX. Granted she still lives at home so I encouraged her to go for it while she can. Never no what burdens might hold you back later in life, so just do it while you can. And I'm a bit happy that tuition bill is behind me now.......whew

Two good decisions to celebrate...buying your daughter a "beater" when she was 16 so she could learn that the good things in life come later when you can afford and take care of them, and the second decision to get her into the Honda/Acura family.

Congratulations to your daughter for graduating college and going into teaching. I bet she loves her ILX. Good stuff!

Thank you all for the commits. And thanks to all that help one another on this forum in some way. We all aren't the brightest mechanics or technicians but do lend an ear or advise in anyway we can, just a wealth of knowledge here.

Awesome! Congrats to both your daughter's graduation and her ILX purchase!
When my wife and I were at the dealer doing the paperwork for my RLX, we heard a family out in the showroom talking about how they want to buy their 16 year old daughter their first car. Granted, I don't know what they were considering exactly, but my wife and I were like...uhh, wut?? haha. My wife's first car was a used Ford Tempo base (crank windows if that tells you anything) that she bought from an elderly neighbor for like $1,500. I forget what year, I think it was a 1990. My first car was a 1986 Mercury Cougar that I inherited from my grandma .
My wife told me the story of doing the first oil change with her dad. The oil was like maple syrup, and the oil filter was stuck on so well that her dad ended up driving a screwdriver through it to get the leverage to turn the thing....good times.
