Just to confirm...does the #06421-TY3-A01 kit include everything needed/everything shown in neruonbob's pictures except the tire or is it just the bar that attaches to the front??

I ask because I just priced that kit online and it can be had for $120 (it retails for $164) - that seems too low for everything except the tire.

If more parts are needed, can someone please post a comprehensive list of part numbers required. I tried my local Acura parts department, but they say that the 06421-TY3-A01 is not available in Canada and I'll have to buy it online.

Thanks!

Hondamore,

Yes that is the correct kit for SH, and it includes everything except the tire. If you look at the picture on my post #4 it is illustration #16, and you can see everything it includes. In the same picture you can also see the list of all the parts individually. I am sure neuronbob will confirm this.

I can confirm that the kit contains everything including the spare WHEEL, but not the tire. You must source the tire separately.

In short, all you need is part #06421-TY3-A01 and a tire, part # referred to a few posts above, and you are completely set.

Thanks to all for the confirmation.

I got confused by the pricing in pgeorg's post with the list of parts in the kit totaling WAY more than the kit itself.

The 06421-TY3-A01 kit is NOT available in Canada, but I have them searching for a Canadian equivalent (likely the same kit but with bilingual stickers). I looked into buying online from the US, but the size of the kit makes shipping it to my location cost twice as much as the kit itself. I'll report back with a part number if Acura Canada finds a Canadian equivalent that is available for Canadian Sport Hybrid owners.

Thanks again.

Update:
I just heard back from Acura Canada and the spare tire kit for the Sport Hybrid RLX is:

#06421-TY3-C01

So it is exactly the same number only with a C instead of an A at the end symbolizing the Canadian version. A quick call to my local Acura Dealer parts department tells me that the retail price for this kit is $373 plus another $250-$300 or so for the tire. Yet another instance of Canadian Acura drivers getting the shaft from Acura Canada who apparently are getting their parts shipped to them from the US via private courier in a Gulfstream Jet. (Massive sarcasm). The same kit can be bought online for $120 USD, so I'll have to look into that.

Just FYI for any Canadian RLX Sport Hybrid owners on the site looking to install the spare tire kit.

Whisky. Tango. Foxtrot. ?

Is that before or after VAT? Maybe I don't want to know that.

06421-TY2-A14ZA Look at post #10 and you can see all the parts that are included. It does not come with the tire, so you will need to order it in addition to to the spare tire kit. I just ordered it a couple of days ago.
This is the U.S. part number.

That is BEFORE tax.

I didn't get to talk to the parts manager that I had been dealing with before, so they may have boosted the price to include installation costs? I'll check again in a couple of weeks when the parts manager is back from holiday.
