Odd Technical Question - need help

So just a short while ago, while driving on the highway, the Navi suddenly reset to the initial attorney's message screen where it says you shouldn't do anything while the car is in motion, not that you can any way. I did nothing to trigger it, and turning the car off and back on again did not reset it. I can't get to the normal operational screen or do anything else with it. Any ideas other than going to the dealer? Everything seems to operating normally otherwise. BTW I am at 41,600 miles if that matters at all. Thanks for your input in advance.

You have never had your laptop hose up and required a reboot?

My Galaxy Note 4 smartphone has developed a condition that after being charged all night it will only show 84%. If I shut it down, pop out the battery and boot up - 100% charged.

We have had the discussion in the past that these auto infotainment systems need a reboot button in the car so that a restart or battery disconnect is not needed to reset the system.

I would say it has to do with the hard drive not being read correctly. If it happens again, I would take it in and see what they say.
Hopefully it will not happen gain.

I suspect pgeorg is right. Had a read error and threw up the flash screen. Couldn't get past it.

I'm thinking it's possible there may be a reset button of some type on the the actual processor unit itself, which I think is located somewhere in the trunk? Just not sure how accessible it is, but I do know I've heard the fan on it running sometimes after the car was shutdown.

I've always been of the notion that it's probably just some x86 micro-ATX (or other small form-factor) mainboard in a a custom rugged housing running a Linux OS variant (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu) with the Acura NAV software running over top. If so, then it should definitely have a way to reboot it without killing the entire electrical system.

Pgeorg?

Well, interestingly, according to this, it's still OEM'd from Alpine...and doesn't appear to be located in the trunk. (My older TL had it in the trunk area).

Correct. What is in the trunk is the amplifier, and the XM module. I will post that in a bit.

Also I don't know if RLX-Sport Hybrid just turned off the car, or shut off the engine, got out, closed the door, and locked it. That is the proper procedure of shutting off all electronics on the RLX (at least I think it is).

I know Bob does this.......

I removed the positive lead on the battery for a second and tightened it back up immediately. No issues since. I guess it was a system blip. No big deal. I am getting 29.6 mpg on this tank though. The last one was 25.8 mpg and I am driving the same way on the same roads. I can't figure out why there is such a difference. I don't think there is any connection. Just one of those variable things I guess.

^^
Maybe there is a connection with the electronics of the car, plus the error codes you've had (O2 sensors), and you mpg fluctuation, after all......

Lets not forget this is a very complicated car......

All possible. There may be no connection at all or maybe they are completely connected. I have no way to separate out the input data from the output experience to say definitively. Just observations that I can see and measure. I appreciate everyone's interest and input. Drive carefully everyone.

Ending mpg for the same tank was 30.1. On the new tank thus far I am averaging 31.2mpg. That is the best I have seen in the winter yet. Same roads, same driving style. Still no connection?
