DYNO for 2014 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid
#81
Adding the specified values from Acura comes to 429 hp and 490 lb-ft. As others have previously stated, the power likely does not come on at the same time, otherwise it would be quicker to 60.

I know I'm a little late to this thread, and I hope I haven't missed the answer to the following question:
Has anyone obtained a 1/4 mile time for the RLX Hybrid on a 1/4 mile track?
If not, I may do so after I get my 2104 RLX Hybrid. The Bradenton 1/4 track is less than 1 hour away from me.
Thanks!

Usually at least one publication does an actual 0-60 and 1/4 mile test, but none can be found on the RLX-SH.

He didn't hold 1st, and it didn't occur to him that he was supposed to do that.
Most of us owned our cars for a while before we discovered we were starting off in 2nd, even in Sport Mode!

Not a single publication has published a 0-60 or a 1/4 mile time for the RLX Sport Hybrid. There has not been sufficient interest in the press for those numbers, or for this car in general. For that, Acura has only itself to blame.

For what it is worth, Acura seems to be following the same approach with the NSX launch. The Wall Street Journal reporter Dan Neil, did an NSX review last week in which he quoted Acura's estimated 0-60 times for the NSX [3.0 seconds]. I don't believe any reviewers have had the opportunity to actually do either a 0-60 or 1/4 test on the NSX.
It seems Acura doesn't think acceleration stats are significant even in an almost $200,000 exotic sports car. I guess Honda doesn't think the NSX demographic [annual income of $450,000+, 25-49 in age] cares about this stuff.

If that was the case, then all exotics would not have these stats. I think just about everyone for bragging rights wants these stats as some people believe that they can "feel" the difference of a tenth of a second in some arbitrary measurement. 3 seconds to 60mph is stupid fast. Shoot 5 seconds to 60 mph is what Porsche and Ferrari used to be bench marked as super car fast. The original Countach did it in 5.4 seconds. I had a poster of that car with that stat on it for a long time when I was a younger tadpole. Now there are too many sedans that are in the 4's to count. Shows how much technology has come full circle.
I'm really seriously giving thought to buying the CTS-V as a 4 door Vette, since my wife has basically flatly said no to my getting the sports car of my dreams. I really like that car. Oh well, safety over impracticality of a 2 person car. Now the CTS-V is real power but stupidity regarding economy, not that gas mpg would matter at all for a nutty car like that.

Forgot to complete my bought above. Another possibility is that Acura purposely is telling publishers and reviewers NOT to discuss 0-60 or 1/4 mile times. While it is true that they are not the most important metric of a car's overall performance, many want to know as they offer a snippet.

I've seen those numbers. Those are unofficial times. No biggus, though. Point remains the same, no official numbers from any major publications.
