Good Auto Shops

Hello All so I have a problem drove through a flooded area this morning and my car stalled out (not in water). I checked to see if water got into it, but no trace of water in oil or starter. Disconnected everything and tried to restart her but all I here is a click sound on my dash it shows check engine light that stays lit for about 15 seconds and go away but the oil and battery indicator stays on. Can anyone help me please?

Sounds like either the battery doesn't have a charge anymore or you need a new starter.

Checked both battery and starter both still good. I just restarted it and now there was a faint smell and smoke that came from around the battery area. Can you suggest a trusted mechanic to go to?

How deep was the water? Starter sounds like the culprit. Check the battery terminals to see if they are tighten and no corrosion around it.

Hey Evil long time... thank you I check them out and yeah I tried just about everything I also was hoping it was the starter but it's not. Water was about 7 maybe 8 inches I'm not sure it was dark this morning and raining so hard. I didn't want to throw it in the shop it if was something I can easily change out. Thank you I'll let you know what happen.
