Hey everyone,

I registered here because I'm thinking about picking up a 4th gen TL SH-AWD 6MT to replace my 335i 6MT but... I can't find one within 500 miles to even test drive. So I'm reaching out here because I'd love to:

1.) Find a car to check out to even see if I should be barking up this particular tree. I've driven the 5A and 6A TLs, but that third pedal makes a big difference.
2.) Put out feelers to see if anyone is thinking about moving on to something else and wants to sell their manual 4G TL.
3.) See if anyone wants to come to the twin turbo dark side =D

Any help would be appreciated. Happy to exchange some seat time in my tuned 335i for anyone curious about them. Time is of the essence because there are a lot of G37s around for sale and I don't want to do something impulsive I'm in the North Dallas/Richardson area FWIW.

My 5at would be no help lol

i would say this tho the tl has a slight bit of a punch on takeoff bs a 335i I had an 08 and I feel a difference but the BMW felt a hell of a lot lighter

but cornering in the shawd is a must try lolnever get nothing like it.

Has anyone else had the airbag recall on their car the guy at the dealer unplugged mine a couple months ago and told me to leave it that way. And they would call when ready. They were trying to make me park it and use a rental but I wasn't about to drive a Camry.

It's a liability and they do not want metal shards flying in your face if it does explode because lawsuits have happened and people have died. The takata airbag recall spans quite a few makes. We have them at Lexus. As of right now we do have parts coming in but there is a line for them. You may want to talk to your service advisor and try to get on that line. I think Acura should have the parts by now. As I recall overhearing they should have parts coming in this month or next month. Best bet is to just keep on calling whichever dealership and figure it out from there.

I'm on the list supposedly they told me it would be about a month or two before I could get it and it's been 4-5 months since

They are a bit inconsistent...the problem with that meet was they changed it like 3 times. Just pick a date and stick with it...that sucks you had to drive that way for nothing. It aint close!

Shouldn't we create a fb page and run it from there? It'd be easier to regulate? A dfw acurazine fb?

We're already on here, I'd say just keep it on here. If people are really interested, they would log in more to acurazine & be more active.

So thanks to everyone here and on FB, I'm now a 4th gen 6MT owner \o/

I've been working on the car, just getting it to a state where I prefer my daily driver (less lows, smaller wheels, as lame as that sounds). I wanted to make it out to the meet, but I was too busy selling my old car, so I can't complain too much.

I have a couple of questions for the DFW guys on here:

1.) Does anyone in the area have a 4th gen SH-AWD with any performance mods? Stuff like a ktuner, j-pipe or exhaust work, etc.? I'm looking to maybe get a bit more exhaust volume as right now all you hear is induction noise inside the car. Picking up some HP in the process would be nice too.

2.) Would anyone be interested in some Vossen CV7s with tires and TPMS? The car looked great on the wheels but my days of 20s and scraping everywhere are behind me.

Corey on TxTL has a 4th gen w/ Ktuner on it. Not sure what else he's done to it, but you'll probably be able reach him better on TxTL. People here on Acurazine are usually the OGs....LOL

First be sure to do the sh-and relearnes or the car may feel bogged down under powered and heavy it's advised after changing wheels suspension and alignments

Got a link? I'm not sure what the AWD system would have to learn or re-learn in this case, but I'll check it out!
