Anyone interested in some HT spec function & form type1 (no damping adjustment) coilovers for the 04-08 TL?
I changed my suspension back to stock and figured I would ask here before throwing it on the black market.
purchased from Heeltoeauto in 2011. Has 40k miles on it. No clunking or visual leaks.
Returned to stock because i have to use my car for work sometimes and roads to job sites aren't lowered car friendly
Asking $250. PM me for faster response

I can also vouch for Cameron. I know someone who had her car detailed by him awhile back and the results were stunning.
I also worked with a mobile detailer for a little while who was also friends with Cameron. Both guys did outstanding work. One was mobile, Cameron has his own shop and line of products.

I couldn't afford to go any lower, it just wasn't practical for daily driving. However if I were to go lower than that's when I would have benefitted from rolling my fenders. So I wasted like $120
Tires are 235-40-18 and my camber in the rear was close to factory specs which is like -0.5 or - 1
I'm not into the whole super slammed, stanced and cambered scene and that's why I love that setup.
Rims weren't too wide to require running stretched tires (not into stretched tires).
Offset wasn't too crazy to have to worry about rolling fenders or running extra negative camber
Forgestar F14 weigh less oem wheels.
Haven't seen Forgestar F14 on any cars in person so they seem pretty rare. XXR you see everywhere lol.
You should buy them

Whereabouts in Dallas are you located? I may be interested in checking them out; I'll PM you after you put your ad up in the Black Market, or you can PM me as well!

I had my fenders rolled but it was a waste of money. At the height you see in the pictures the tires never came close to rubbing.

Did everyone survive the great 2015 icemageddon? I drove in it every day and it was sketchy. Worst was driving 10 miles south from richardson on 75 at 1am on Friday. I went 20mph the whole way on the freeway and there were multiple cars facing the wrong direction along the way.

I survived! I didn't drive my TL until yesterday. The truck was taking all the abuse. Plus if I get into an accident in my truck I wont care. lol On a better note.... I have Accuair coming

Well, there is a few with TSX but a lot of them do not post or mod. The ones that were active arnt so much anymore. There is a lot of 3G TL's, especially another group im a part of TXTL. What do you have?
What happened man!?

Well, my transmission (5AT) gave up the ghost. Went to exit from highway and gassed it a little to get over and it downshifted to a higher than normal rpm like a slipping clutch would do. Turned to go over the bridge near my house on a slight incline and it literally seemed like it wasnt going to make it over the hill. Got home and let it sit for a while then went and drove and all gears except for 1st seem to be slipping now. I have already done the 3x3, and the pressure switches along with the filter and I am at 120k. I am in Dallas and have an Acura mechanic that will swap out my tranny for $400. I just need to come up with one. Do I get new or rebuild? Who can I trust to buy one from?

Well, apparently, the 3x3 was the worst thing I could have done to my car. All the new fluid cleaned off enough built up gunk from the years that it clogged the internal filter resulting in too low pressure to operate correctly. Unless you are absolutely sure that the transmission has been serviced properly through the years before doing the 3x3... DO NOT DO IT. The internal filter can only be accessed after taking the transmission apart.
Probably going to ask about installing an add-on filter to protect the internal one if possible.

Yeah back when I was working at a small shop if a customer came in with over 80k miles on the odometer and requested a transmission service (flush using a machine) we would try to talk them out of it or require them to sign a waiver pretty much saying if any damage occurs after the service the shop is not liable.
We tell the customers the same thing you were told. Over the years gunk and sludge builds up inside the transmission. Once new fluid is added the detergents dislodge all the previous gunk and sludge and clogs up the valve body and the holes for the check balls.
How many miles was on your car when you did the transmission fluid change?

If you have ever disassembled transmissions and worked on as many as I have, you'll run into the same thing. Sludge doesn't build up inside the transmission, transmission fluid especially ATF is a very good cleaning agent. Inside transmissions are super duper clean, regardless of the mileage and maintenance. What happens over time is the fluid breaks down with heat and cannot provide proper lubrication, thus needing to be changed. It causes bearings, and clutches(clutches and steels) to wear. Hard driving can also help wear the clutches and steels(metal plate between each clutch in a clutch pack). Very fine metal shavings accumulate and that's the reason drain plugs have a magnet on them. The main cause of slipping is clutch material wereing off each clutch plate, this material gets suspended in the fluid and acts as a friction modifier. Lets just say for visuals... sand. So imagine fluid with sand in it, its gritty and keeps the clutches from slipping. Once you drain the fluid and replace with new all that "sand" or friction material is gone, nothing to grab onto the clutches now. So it with then essentially slip because now with clutch plate materials gone and no friction modifier in the fluid it is basically metal on metal plates, not friction surfaces, so it slips. There is some truth to "sludge" but its really pockets of clutch and metal material that sit on the bottom of the transmission pan or flat internal edges of the case. Once new fluid is put in and or flushed it can push these pockets of small debris into suspension in the fluid and now act harshly to valves in the valve body. Its a tricky game, but really I don't recommend not doing a transmission service because of mileage, if the fluid isn't burnt smelling, drain and refill it. if its black or dark brown, you can be taking a risk. To keep old fluid in is like not changing your oil... it cant lubricate well after so long and its gonna have an issue. I wouldn't blame the 3x3 on your service performed... your like the 9 millionth transmission to go out that Honda made. 2nd gen and 3rd gen TL and TSX had tranny issues a lot up until 2007/2008. It was just time my man
All Around Klown
lol... You missed my point and it is NOTHING like not changing your oil. Oil is changed every 3000-5000 miles (approx). First scheduled trans maintenance is 60,000... pretty sure mine was skipped. When tranny fluid wears out the detergent breaks down. New tranny fluid brings new detergent and loosens up build up, clogging the pathetic tiny internal filter...
