I've been considering doing just that for quite a while now. I even spoke about it on the boards. I was just waiting to see if the next version of OSX supported my machine, now that I know it does, I'm going to do it.
Ordered a Kingston HyperX 120GB SSD from newegg a couple minutes ago that just happened to be on special for $75. Great timing.

I'm debating the capacity to get. I currently have a 80gb western digital raptor for my OS drive. But I only have 7gb free on it. And I don't have much installed. And I don't have enough space to backup my iPhone & iPad which are both 32gb models.
Thinking 240gb or maybe 180gb

I know a guy with a 2007 MBP, I'm going to throw an SSD and 4GB RAM in there and see how it goes.
The 07 MBP only has SATA 1 so it won't be that great but the random write improvements will still be quite significant.

btw, having an issue with my moms mac mini. i think its late 2012 model and I just updated it to Mavericks
after it sleeps, when i wake it up. the screen turns on and i can move the mouse. but its not responsive when i click the trackpad or press on the keyboard to try and sign on.
although today after smashing the keyboard a bit, i got it to finally wake up all the way
it doesnt do it all the time thou.

It memorizes your preferences.. it's important to know how to reset it
- Shut down your Mac.
- Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
- Turn on the computer.
- Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
- Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.

No they do not. PRAM/NVRAM is on a Mac-only section of the hardware/firmware. A Hackintosh uses a bootloader that gets around the first few segments of the process and then boots up normally as a Mac.
