I know he beat him 2012...they were running the story and I had to look up who this kid was. But, if he is to compare himself to what Phelps has achieved, it's peanuts. That's all I'm getting at...Le Dumb has NOTHING on Phelps.

No. I had it right. See, *Kazakhstan* did something meaningful and earned his limelight by showing that he was better than the others in a competitive setting. Not by being a human dumpster.

Same with swimming too. Don't recall they've done the overhead cable camera before.

The only thing I don't like about the swimming coverage is they only label who the front runner is through the race. I couldn't remember which lane was USA's through the 4x200 so it was like 8 laps before we took the lead.

IIRCthe top left of the TV (at least for me) tells you the top 3 that came in and their lane

You're still confused.
This is at the start:
You can see who is at each lane clearly. However, once they start swimming, they only show the same graphics as above, except just the top three. So let's say after 3 laps, you forget which lane the Canadian swimmer is, because he isn't in the top three anymore.

Yes what F-C said. Plus if you remember oh Adrian is lane 5, you have to count to lane 5 rather than a superimposed number on the side. Probably a conscious production decision where they wanted less stats on the screen.

That's like saying a superimposed scoreboard at the bottom distracts from a football game. But I get it, they probably want a minimalist, artistic approach. Looks good when they show it 4, 8, 12 years later and it's clean.
