Not sure about "Greatest Living American," but glad he will be around through the 2019 season Yummy may not be as happy...........

In other news - there are back and forth conflicting reports as to whether or not the NFL is investigating Rob Gronkowski's party cruise for violating league's gambling policy. Apparently Tony Romo is miffed that the NFL came down on him. Romo claims the league unfairly applied the league gambling policy when it shut down his National Fantasy Football Convention last July and his attorneys are saying they should be looking into Gronk.

I don't care for Kaepernick, but I don't get why there's this talk of trading him when supposedly he's a good fit for Chip Kelly's system

Ahh Gronk's cruise

Gambling wasn’t the only scandalous thing to happen on the Gronk Party Ship, as the tight end reportedly offered a couple “10 grand cash right now if you bang in front of everybody."
They spoke about this for weeks on ESPN radio and 0 fucks given. The Vikings sex cruise though was screwed in more ways than one.

I think if the player is not violating league rules or team policy (or the law in general ), I'm not sure what ESPN can report about aside from a lifestyle piece. So long as no crimes are being committed against women the issue here is probably gambling.

I hear you but Gronk gets a pass for a lot of things. Plus the fact he's the best tight end helps.

Gronk never used to get a pass. Everything changes after you get that ring

Broncos franchise-tag Von Miller, leaving Brock Osweiler free to test the market

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...st-the-market/

I wonder what Denver has up it's sleeve for QB then. Unless they think there will be little to no interest and they are in the divers seat to resign him.

That's unfortunate but not surprising. The honeymoon is going to be over when it comes to keeping a lot of our existing talent. I think we've benefited from having better talent than our payroll would indicate, so no surprise guys like Kearse and soon Baldwin will test the market. He's actually an alumni of my high school - truly a local boy done good.

Cousins I get (and I'm happy because he's a cheap keeper for me in FFB ) but Bradford? After last season I'm really surprised. Although maybe with Kelly out maybe the new system will be a better fit.

Curious - What do you think he has gotten a pass on? I'm not sure he does the smartest or brightest things, but as 1Louder said above, he isn't breaking an laws. At least not that I am aware of.

Let me preface by saying I have no problem with Gronk so I don't want to infer any bias. I've heard it many times on the Le Batard show and he's a big Gronk fan even calling him a polar bear because he's so good. It's not about breaking laws. It's various sophomoric things he's said and done that many other players would be scrutinized for. The cruise with his booty dancing, the $10k sex "offer" (yes it was a joke), the stories of his partying drunk, his whole frat boy dumb jock persona, etc. I'm a fan of honest players that don't care TBH so more power to Gronk. I hate the hypocrisy of fans for how it's a sliding scale on certain people or things that they do. A lot of guys would catch flack for that but meanwhile it's actually helped Gronk's brand.

Okay - gotcha! Sophomoric is a good way to describe some of his antics. Just remember he is a 26 year old millionaire so he has the ability and means to be more sophomoric than most.
As an aside - if you believe what has been reported he doesn't touch his payroll checks from the Patriots and banks all of that $$. He only uses / spends his endorsement $$, so he may not be as immature as some of us may think

Yeah the best part is that some of those antics could be planned/calculated. It's actually working for him by always being in the press and thus increasing his popularity which increases his endorsements. It's like the Kardashian effect marketing wise.

Did you guys hear Peyton Manning retired? Because there's barely been any news media coverage. I mean no one is talking about it.

I was commenting on that at lunch today, a room packed full of reporters for something that was all but expected. Even the main news stations were cutting over to cover it...

I think of all the professional athletes playing today he deserves a hero's sendoff and all the fanfare and accolades that comes with it. It's just they are covering it with the intensity normally reserved for a President being assassinated. On ESPN it's "breaking news" and just round the clock discussion. Even when they are interviewing other people for completely different reasons, they weave in a question about Manning.

But I did just see his speech live. Was very emotional for him and a complete class act all the way. That's how you address the media. That's how you retire. Cam, take notes.

I agree he deserves a send off, just the amount of coverage for something that was expected like it's breaking news is just laughable

Oh Brock. Perfect timing, the day he grabs the reigns

Brock Osweiler -- Blindsided at Pizza Shop ... Refuses to Fight Back (VIDEO) | TMZ.com

2:23 PM PT -- We spoke with a rep for the Scottsdale PD who tells us they have reviewed the video and contacted the off-duty officers who were at the scene.

We're told the cop on scene felt the situation "did not rise to the level of a criminal violation" so no one was arrested.

"There was no crime reported and no victims came forward."You're about to watch a video of a man protecting his entire career ... when Broncos QB Brock Osweiler is attacked by a guy outside of a pizza place -- but smartly REFUSES to fight back.

It all went down in front of Joe's Pizza in Scottsdale, AZ around 2 AM early Saturday morning -- when Brock and his crew showed up for a late night pie after watching his friend Kelley James perform at the nearby W Hotel.

During the pizza run, we're told Brock was heckled by another group -- and things got heated. One woman tries to confront Brock's wife and Brock uses a stiff arm to push her away. Brock then tries to gather his crew to get into a waiting car to leave the situation.

But one of the men in the other party didn't like that Brock made physical contact with his lady -- and shoved Brock in the back hard ... sending the QB flying toward the waiting car.

Instead of turning and fighting the guy, Osweiler -- who's on the verge of signing the biggest contract of his life -- held his crew back and ordered everyone into the car.

Cops were on scene and helped break everything up ... but the bottom line, Brock WALKED AWAY without an injury or an arrest.

Oh, and one last thing ... during the entire fracas, he NEVER fumbled the pizza box.

#GoodWork

Maybe my new favorite picture

Tom Brady was angered by a taxi driver and decided to take out their anger there. This is because the player who was walking with his wife, Gisele Bündchen , the streets of Manhattan in New York, on Monday night, did not like the driver at high speed as he crossed the street.

Lots of movement last few days. Some interesting ones:

Fins sign Mario Williams former #1 overall who was cut by Buffalo.
Broncos DE Malik Jackson to the Jags. 4th highest paid D Line
JPP stays with Giants for $10MM
Richie Incognito got a nice contract to stay with Buffalo. Still waiting for the Dolphins Bully Report findings from Dungy and Curtis Martin
Titans trade for DeMarco Murray
Mike Wallace cut from Vikes. So overpaid since he left Big Ben right Ack

Dammit, the Byron Maxwell & Kiko Alonso trade (Eagles-to-Dolphins) has apparently gone through. Earlier today I had heard that Maxwell had trouble passing his physical, so I was hoping the Fins would pull the plug.

Both of those guys were huge busts last year. Nice for the Eagles to be able to unload their contracts AND get draft picks out of them, but I don't understand WTF Miami is getting...
