Still in shock over the Cubs winning it all...
The Cubs and Bears were the 1st two professional teams known to me when I arrived in Chicago as a 5 year-old. My Dad was a big Bears and Cubs fan...Anyways, seeing the Cubbies win it last week definitely brought back some fond memories of my Dad's interest in the team and even our time when we played catch and him showing me how to throw certain pitches (he was a player as a kid in Taiwan).
Anyways...off-season time. It'll be interesting to see what changes the Cubs make. The market seems kinda thin this year...so, there will be some overpayments for sure by teams.

I'm curious to see what the Indians will do too. I don't expect any splashy signings, especially since the last ones they made were Michael Bourn and Nick Swisher , but I'm hearing names like Jon Jay thrown around. I wouldn't mind having Rajai and Napoli back along with some pitching depth.
Hard to believe that Rich Hill is considered the top pitcher available this year, really, really weak free agent market.

The Indians already came out and said they aren't trading him. He's under team control for 2 more years at a very reasonable rate. If the wheels really come off, then they'll probably move him, but I just don't see it happening until then. CBS Sports decided to start that rumor for some reason, but the Indians core is young and under team control for at least a few more seasons. For example, the whole pitching staff is under team control until 2020 at a total per season rate less than what some teams are paying for their Ace. This is their window to win a title, so they won't tear it down until they have to.

Holy stolen thunder, batsman. Thanks election.
Baez, Chapman and Lindor swung by the club Friday, nice to see them out. Baez and Lindor were buddies in PR baseball.

Ya I was kinda surprised too. Should be blue!
But, these guys are pretty down to earth, I think this is how they roll. At least these two. Now Chapman when he walked in damn he commanded a presence.

Wow...ChiSox trade Sale: Report: Red Sox Acquire Chris Sale From Chicago White Sox « CBS Boston
Better hope those prospects are as good as they are supposed to be...Sale's one of the best pitchers in the game.

Yeah, apparently the #2-ranked prospect for Eaton?
I guess a productive center fielder is hard to come by...?
Anyways, the ChiSox are indeed doing a full rebuild not since the White Flag trade...this will be interesting how it pans out with the prospects they've got back. Looks like Frazier, Abreu are also on the block...it's a firesale!

Giolito is supposed to be a stud and Lopez has promise. Pair them with Rodon and Quintana in the future and it doesn't look so bad.
The Nats had bad production in CF last year until they finally brought up and started Trea Turner. But he is moving to SS this year.

Meanwhile...it's just weird to see Fowler as a Card.

Anyone else find it weird how soft the market has been for EE and Trumbo? There's rumblings that EE could be coming to the Indians at way below what he thought his market value was. Not that I'm complaining about it, I just figured he'd be getting a massive deal this year.

I'm in a Dynasty Fantasy Baseball league and Giolito has been at the top of most people's wish lists for a few years now. One team scooped him up really early, but he was considered the top pitching prospect in baseball by quite a large margin before taking a step back this year.

I was due to have a down year after keeping so many players. If anything, it was a kick in the rear to redo some elements of my roster.
Then...there's my basketball team.
Boy am I of the suck.
