This time they need to finish the deal. Stranding a base runner on 3rd in game 7 last year is still haunting the city!

Small market team for me...go Royals!

BUT...I do like how the Mets play. Their pitching is outstanding.

My team isn't in it. (Yanks) but my dad has been a Mets fan for years, so I'm just going with them because of that.

It's gonna be a close series. The Royals have arguably better overall offense than the Mets from 1-9...but, you can't discount the insane threat Murphy suddenly has since he suddenly went supernova with the Mets.

That being said, the edge in pitching and bullpen goes to the Mets by a smidge (I like the Royals pitching too) and as we all have seen with the Jays and Cubs, great pitching will always trump great hitting...so, if the Mets pitching holds, despite me rooting for the Royals, I see the Mets taking it.

Otherwise, if somehow DeGrom, Noah, and Harvey do not dominate...the Royals will take it.

I will say if they don't win it this year they will never have a team like this they can't do any wrong...I think the METS have to win tonight, or this things over in 4 or 5 games in New York just my opinion.

2 down, 2 to go.

Keep throwing fastballs and we'll keep being the best fastball hitting team in the league.

How could I have forgotten about this thread.

I have been a Mets fan for life, even when they sucked so bad that you could buy a nose bleed seat and then walk down to the front row and they would sit you down.

I think this series will go 7 but I really don't know which way it will go.

First professional sports title (besides soccer) for KC since 1985. The parade tomorrow is going to be awesome!

Aw c'mon man, Murphy caught lightning in a bottle for the first part of the playoffs but we knew it was not sustainable since he's not historically THAT type of player.

Mets can live/survive without Murph who some sucker is going to overpay (please see ChiSox ). As long as the pitching continues, I think the Mets are fine. Although, the reliance on fastballs obviously came back to bite them. Then again, the Royals are a rare team that can hit fastballs great.

Is it true that traffic was so bad they were parking everywhere for the celebration in KC?

Murph sucks. Good riddance. We have Dilson Herrera for 2B now. We just need a centerfielder and a short stop and middle relief. Our rotation is the best in the MLB, and Familia played great as our closer.

My office is 10 min away from Union Station on a normal day. It took me an hour and 45 min to finally park 3 miles south of Union Station. My group along with several other large groups hoofed it on foot 3 miles north where everyone gathered for the end of the parade/rally.

It definitely highlighted that KC is not prepared for something that large as there is not a great transit system here like NY, or Chicago have. On the other hand, there weren't many accidents, a grand total of 3 arrests and 99.9% of the people were just there to celebrate and not tear anything up or be stupid which is how these things should go. Many school districts closed school for the day so thousands of children went with parents to see the parade which in my opinion is well worth the day off school.

The KC Metro has just over 2 million people, so if the reports of 800k showed up for the event you can imagine how congested it was.

That rotation could easily win the NL next year if they can beef up the bull pen just a little bit. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see the Mets make another deep run next year if they keep the eky guys.

Royals on the other hand are going to have to start paying some of these guys that are on cheap contracts and as a small market team it may not be feasible. Perez for example, I think is in line to make $2 million next year!! When is contract is up he'll get paid big time by someone, and we have a lot of guys over the next 2 years in similar situations.

(Sorry for not multi-quoting)

Had a great time watching the Royals kill my Reds and checking out KC back in May. None of us had ever been. The only thing I didn't like was how the Kauffman and the Chefs stadium were in the middle of nowhere!

Oh and there was a New Kids on the Block concert the same time we were there so milfs everywhere

Oh yeah, went to Joe's the second day when we were hungover. Between there and a place I went to on the Nashville strip it's the best I've had. Ended up bringing two bottles home.
