Yumcha, while I whole heartedly agree with what you said about needing good defence, the oilers are playing the red wings tonight and at near the half way mark of the game, they were being outshot 18-5. It took the oilers 7 minutes before they got their first shot in the second period. Brutal. Just brutal.

The red wings aren't even that great of a team. Not bad, but not top of the league either.n

Except...Talbot goes from a defensively and structurally RESPONSIBLE organization to a hockey that plays like it's a pond game...Team D? WTFBBQ is team D? It's a foreign language for the Oilers.

Yeah, I have it on the tube right now in the background...3-2 Chicken Things...

But, the 1st and 2nd periods...Talbot was basically under seige...very little help as the Wings played keep-away. And again, horrid team D...if there was good team D, it would result in a better ability to get the puck back and in turn, transition it to the forwards to go on the attack.

Anyhoo...the Oilers are basically the Chicago Bears (and I love them) of hockey. Inept from top to bottom...with some talent but with an organization too inept to know what to do with it.

It was reviewed, it was marginally late at best and Stepan was daydreaming watching his pass. It wasn't from behind, it wasn't to the head, just because Stepan eventually slid to the boards doesn't make it boarding.

You're supposed to hit them in the chest, above that is illegal contact to the head, below the hips becomes clipping. Stepan's ribs breaking is unfortunate but they'll heal better than a concussion would.

Well we could complain about Vigneault comparing the hit to Aaron Rome's late, high, knocked out on the ice head shot.

And hank is an embellisher

The b's stink, just like said they would. On the other hand, b-b-b-babsy and the leafs are tearing up the league.

Considering who the Leaves have on the roster, the fact that they have more points than the Oilers with all the bazillion #1 overall picks Edmonton has...it's an accomplishment.

And you didn't think your Bruins would be that great anyhoo...so, this is a pleasant surprise for you.

I believe you mean Joneil's Bruins.

As you very well know I own the Arizona coyotes franchise as well as superstar Mighty Max Domi and our number one fan, Detroits own, Alice Cooper.

It's the new dynasty goal...to amass as many #1 overall picks as possible.

Yep, he's been taking cheap shots at Sid his whole career. I'm amazed that he only got 1 game for that, especially after he broke his stick over Sid's back while he was down on the ice, this league is just f'ing ridiculous

Who is the Pens' enforcer-guy right now...? It was just odd to see Geno also drop the gloves...I mean, I know the game got chippy after the hits on Sid and Malkin can hold his own but I think Pittsburgh would've preferred to not see their star players doing the fights...?

Downie wast an enforcer by a long shot, but at least he brought the intimidation factor. For all those skilled players, you're right, they have no one to step up and protect them.

Hrm...I think if I were Rutherford, I'd get someone who can punch (and skate) called up then. If anything...just a deterrence. Hawks have the former Ranger, Mashinter, skating on the 4th line and while he's never going to light the scoresheet, he does hit and can skate and will drop the gloves if needed. Makes total sense for the Pens to have one for Letang, Sid, Geno, and Phil.

Not saying a John Scott-type...cuz, that guy's a pylon...but, at least someone who can skate or even agitate.

This stinks.

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/ho...w-york-rangers

Rangers defenseman Kevin Klein will miss 2-to-3 weeks after he “strained some oblique” muscles in Monday night’s 4-3 home win over the Carolina Hurricanes, coach Alain Vigneault said Tuesday morning in Greenburgh.

Klein has been the team’s most consistent defenseman this season. In his absence, rookie Dylan McIlrath will reenter the lineup. McIlrath played well in consecutive losses against Boston and Philadelphia before being a healthy scratch in Monday’s win over Carolina.

Vigneault also will need top-pair defenseman Dan Girardi to find his game. Girardi has struggled much of this season but logged a team-high 27:43 on 40 shifts Monday in Klein’s absence, and the Rangers will need more of the same for the next few weeks.

You'll all see... When the oilers get their new, billion dollar arena next season, they'll be hoisting the cup above their heads either pride.

Sucking for the last ten years has been all part of their secret plan...

Someone tell Chiarelli that when stealing "secret plans", it is rather unwise to steal them from the greater Toronto area
