Sad to see Spieth come up just short, however still a 3 way playoff is exciting

Sad that Spieth had to pull his swing twice because of people snapping their phone cameras, put that shit on silent idiots

The playoff was exciting, hate to see Louis lose it on the last putt like that

anyone do an "on-course" lesson rather than a driving range lesson? and is it worth double the cost ($150 / 9 holes vs $75 / hr at range)?

^Definitely worth it if you're trying to learn the ins and outs of the game, chipping, short game, etc, and not just focus on your swing

took a 2 hour on-course lesson last week. money well spent. learned how to hit a flop shot, better bunker play, and made two small changes to my swing that will really help in the future: hip movement on the backswing and clubface angle (open, closed, neutral) through the swing.

shot +1 at a par-3 course over the weekend. 16/18 GIR.
completely changed my putting grip to left-hand-low, ala Jordan Spieth. Only had two bogeys and two three-putts.

I feel the need...
Have gone through almost a half dozen drivers (all 9.5 loft) in frustration over the past few years getting pissed because I've developed a snap left hook off the tee.
I bought a Taylor Made Aero Burner at a charity golf outing not noticing it was a 10.5 degree loft. When I hit it the first few times it was an epiphany: back to averaging 230~ish+ yards straight again with a bit more carry.

Spieth is unstoppable, that 46 ft putt was ridiculous. Props to him, 22 years old, and 20something mil in the bank

Saw my first live hole in one. My buddy plays maybe 3 rounds a year and is about a 1000 handicap. He hits a bladed sliced 8 iron that take two side bounces and hits the cup at 100 mph and stays in. It was unbelievable. As soon as he hit it I said that is in the cup. I freaked out and no one else said anything.
To give you an idea of how naive he was to the whole thing he goes "I should probably keep this ball, huh?"
Knowing he had no idea how special this moment was we got the card, ball, tee, and I even forked up an insane amount to buy the rental 8 iron he hit it with. It was awesome.
If I never have one this could not have been a better way to see it to such a good guy.

Been to the driving range a few times (last time I played was year ago) and I never really play anyways. But I would like to get back into it aka play once or twice a year.
I know my swing is far from perfect and I'm not going to invest in getting lessons seeing how little I play. But I had some great, perfectly straight shots and some really bad ones. I need a lot more practice. I can't hit the driver worth a damn. I would rather hit the 3 wood than driver. Plus the last time I went out it was really windy out and I was slicing my ball INTO the wind several times.. I wonder how those would have looked if it wasn't windy haha.

was hitting my drives on par 4s consistently though with my 5 iron. rather be 220 in the fairway than 280 in the woods. need to chip better and short game 120 yards in. not going to beat myself up about it, I know I will improve. HDCP is 22.5

Bogey then quadruple bogey:
How to go from the lead and 3 shots ahead to 3 shots behind and tied for 4th in 2 holes. Damn, that was terribly painful to watch.

That quadruple was insane, I couldn't believe that he drowned 2 balls!

He tried to out think the game which is never good. He mentioned not wanting to go to the drop zone which was by the 13th tee. I bet he did not want to the others he just plunked one. That is the only thing that makes sense. Its not like he dropped back to take a full swing. It was 3/4 at best.
