The group stages are winding down and every win potentially will get teams to move to the knockout round. Last day tomorrow.
France without Ribery has played very well. I hate to say it but it looks like a young persons game out there.

Proffesional soccer player gets charged with assault.
My beloved Futbol got a dose of stupidity yesterday at the hand/mouth of Luis Suarez from Uruguay. In front of the goal the defender Giorgio Cheiellini from Italy was bitten by Uruguay`s superstar Luis Suarez.
It wasn`t the first time he chomped on a another player. This would be the third such incident where he used his teeth instead of his feet. He was suspended in England and Nederlands for similar incidents.
This pic is from a previous incident.

I don't really follow "Futbol" but did play soccer for years in town leagues and High School. I've seen the story on the news and apparently this is at least the third time he has been caught doing this. A really punk move IMHO. Maybe someone will knock out a few of his teeth......

If you're going to post a thread about an incident, at least link or post the incident and not some other time he bit someone on a different team...

Someone needs to knock his teeth out, so the only thing he'll be doing to a guy, is gumming his cock.

It is.
Any of you guys still play?
I'm 39 and play over 30 every Sunday. We're playing outdoor 11 v 11 right now. So that we all were able to catch the game this past Sunday we moved the game to 3 PM. It was hot as hell and we only had 2 subs. Good times.

43 here and stopped playing when I was 37. Ended up playing indoor which I always hated but once I started playing had a lot of fun liked the pace. In 30 years of playing maybe scored 12 goals, indoor I was averaging 3 goals a game.
Have a soccer ball always sitting in the backyard and when friends or brother bring there kids over we kick it around.
Would like to get back to coaching. Coached two U-11 teams(one to a championship) Also Asst coach. Girls varsity. And Asst coach Boys Varsity.
Played college, high school, Club Teams(Serbs, Greeks, Italians) played in Europe (Greece) mainly GreeK and German teams. Also played coed once and some of the girls were on the U.S. Woman's soccer team. Fun!

I've played with a group of Peruvians for a few years. We usually play on an outdoor turf field. We used to play indoor turf and before that concrete. I never really played when I was a kid. I use American sports instincts for defense so I'm a great defender but I really need to work on my control. Plus my cross trainer shoes probably don't help. We play with anyone from their 20's to a couple of dudes were serious players in Peru who are in their 60s. Believe it or not they play very well.

I have a couple of close friends living in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area. One of them has a live in girlfriend from Peru. I know that her brothers play. Maybe you play with friends of friends.
Last name Noriega.

Everyone in my house plays. Wife plays 2-3 times a week. Son plays 1-2 times a week and I play 1-2 times a week as well. Usually indoors in the winter and outdoor the rest of the year. The summer league I am in is awesome. $60 for 16 weeks of 90 minute games. Best value and very well ran. The league officials do a good job drafting teams so they are even.
Great way to keep the weight off if I can void the post game beer(s).

Name doesn't ring a bell. We play in the Kendall area which is southwest Miami-Dade county by the Tamiami Airport. There are a shitload of Peruvians here though.
We usually do Coronas and chicken wings
