Round of 16 if we're lucky.

Hammys are no joke, even a slight pull.

Sounds like Altidore is out the rest of the tourney.

EDIT: Still being evaluated.

Altidore's injury will be huge. However, Portugal had their top THREE players (besides Cristiano) out for our match on Sunday. Pepe is out with a red card, and two others went down to injury. If we win against Portugal, we're moving on.

I believe a win, a tie and a loss will put us through. I won`t complain with a win over Portugal.

Not if Ghana beats Germany and Portugal. Because Germany is certainly going to beat us.

I want to eliminate the what if scenarios completely. I believe we have a shot at beating Portugal, just like we did in 2002.

Germany will destroy Ghana.

So a German, playing for the US, wins the game, but yet he could still play for Germany?

No way in hell he would make the stacked German squad, which is why he is playing for the USA

If the US advances second from group and Russia somehow manages to win their group.. that'll be an interesting matchup.

That being said I suspect Korea vs Russia will be boring.

Nice 2nd goal from Belgium.

I think regardless if the US were to finish 1st or second, either matchup would be winnable.

That wasn't my question. Now I see that all three men just mention were born there or lived there while the fathers were station in Germany. This dual citizenship is what has me

Another good game today. The Russian goalie screwed up but Russia came back with an equalizer.

That's nothing. There are half brothers playing for different countries. The Boateng brothers play for Germany and Ghana. The US has 5 players born in Germany.

The US can't bank on a win, loss and draw to get past the first round. It is not going to be easy. I like their chances as long as the defense plays the same type of game and the offense steps it up

No he can't. FIFA let's you change your "nationality" once, but not if you have played in a non-friendly "A" international match. Typically, if you wan't to swtich nationalities, you have to do so while U23, and before before you play for the senior team.

In addition, if you are born on an American base on foreign soil you are an American citizen. They do not have dual citizenship.

That`s nice, but Netherlands is going to have a relatively easy win against Australia. We`ll see if the Spain win was a fluke.

Cahill goal of the tournament so far. Van Persie's header close second.

Australia actually look like the better team at half! Netherlands better do something if they want to win.
